MicroArmor $1.50 - any interest?

Post by Extra Crispy »

A gamer in the area passed away recently and the lads are rallying to help the family dispose of his collection. Among the many items are perhaps 10,000 pieces of modern micro armor (no WW2 as far as we can see). It is believed to all be GHQ make, but I cannot yet verify.

From initial photos they look to have been simply spray painted a solid color. A reliable friend has examined them and says the paint is a nice even coat so all the detail still shows through. A thorough examination and indexing is needed of course.

If these were available to purchase at $1.50 per regular vehicle, would you have any interest? Includes tanks, trucks, artillery, support vehicles for US and Warsaw Pact. It appears he preferred to model units rather than game, so he has German 1st Armored, a British armored division etc. etc.

M1s, M60s, M113s, Soviets of all kinds.

Alternatively we may offer up the various units as a lot at a substantial discount.

Thoughts? Interest?

The Commonwealth of Chrisdom, Department of Defense, Military Surplus and Sales & Leasing Division is open for business. Leasing an Ohio Class submarine, with ICBM. 3 month lease is $50,000,000, plus damages and excessive wear and tear. You will not be provided any launch codes or capability. If you would like to hire a trained crew, another $315,000 per month for the 3 months. All crew members must be certified and credentialed. If wishing to lease the Triumphant, $47,000,000 for the 3month lease. Monthly expense for trained crew is $292,000, a real bargain.

Hi Guys:

Thanks for all the PMs. Once we decide what to do I will definitely post here.

Revised estimate is collection may contain over 20,000 vehicles!

Just an inventory will be a TON of work!

Such an enviable task... wish I were in a position to help.

I wish I could get into that as well but my finance minister says funds won't be freed until later this year, nearer to my birthday. I'd love to help organize as my OCD could use a workout. It's sad we've lost a gamer/collector.

I'm very sorry for the loss. Please feel free to send 20 or 30 pounds of lead to me and I'd be happy to help sort and inventory it!

I'm very interested to see what is available. This is one of those cases where it will be better to beg for forgiveness than for permission!

My condolences to the family... Whoa, that is a lot of lead/pewter!

Yeah, if it helps, I focus mostly on WWII/Vietnam, but perhaps this the chance for me to jump on some modern pieces... (I need more like a hole in the head)

Helps the family and helps us, why not?

I am interested in M60A2s, M88s, and the 900 series wreckers. Don't need any more M551 Sheridans.

I think we all resemble that -- not that I need more --LOL
I am looking at my approximately 550 painted minis, 200 or so, primed, and about 700 bare metal myself, but I will always take more modern tanks -- nationality does not matter --

I am looking primarily, though, for soviet, across the board --- tanks, support, missile artillery, etc.
