2018-2019 Wish List for Modern, '47, and WWII (Subj edited)

by panzergator
This thread offers a central place for GHQ forum members to post items they want GHQ to produce for its 1/285th scale WWII, '47, and Modern series during GHQ's PRODUCTION YEAR 2018-2019. The list starts now and ends when folks stop contributing or when it becomes moot because the resulting RELEASE list is published. Members may still contribute after a contest starts because something relevant or interesting may still come up. This thread takes up where the 2017-2018 RELEASE LIST stops.

Let's make it easy on GHQ. Please TRY to use the format below, which divides your list between WWII, '47 and Modern, then specifies the country of origin or use, the vehicle type and the specific vehicle. Please consider EDITING your post if you think of subsequent "'wants" rather than just adding another entry. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT THIS WAY, but it is in MEMBERS' interest to make it as easy as possible for GHQ to decide candidates for a contest and production in the subsequent year. Comments on the items, justifications, interesting facts are welcome as they enhance the readers' experience. Please refrain from acrimony. It is not constructive. Members are not required to use this list to express their desires. They are free to establish their own threads.

My wish list:

I'm still looking to fill out my Cold War proxy armies:

Israeli infantry and heavy weapons suitable for 67 and 73 wars.
North Korea and Chinese infantry and heavy weapons for the Korean War.
South African infantry and heavy weapons suitable for the Angolan Civil War.
Centurian Mk V without side skirts and extra fuel cell.
US heavy weapons for the Korean War - 3.5" bazookas, tripod M1919 MGs, 81mm mortars and 75/90mm recoilless rifles. Regular and winter kit would be a plus.
Bundeswehr infantry with mid eighties weaponry - G3 rifles and MG1 machine guns.
Generic western client state infantry with basic LBE, soft caps/ boonie hats armed with M14/M16 and FN FAL.
Generic Soviet client state infantry dressed the same way but with AK47/RPK MG.
Flat bed technicals with recoilless rifles, ZPU 23 and 20mm Oerlikens.

These are good ones.

- Marines/spec ops in Combat Rubber Raiding Craft / Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats
US SEALS? US Marines British Royal Marines Senegalese! Chinese special forces Turkish spec ops

Almost everyone in the world uses boats like this, with troops either wearing boonie hats or low-profile helmets (or scuba gear). I'd buy at least a platoon, if not a full company, at 1:1 for my US Marines, and probably a similar quantity for my Chinese Marines. Helmet or Boonie hat + M16 is the most generic and widely-used option IMO....The Brits need berets and bullpup rifles, the Chinese helmets and bullpup rifles, so not as generic and therefore lower priority...

If there is more for a model, it is perhaps more likely to be produced. :)

If we are going to talk combat commands, I would like to see a US arty command of 8 guns, 8 FAASVs, 2 M577s, and 2 HUMVEEs.

Why not.. GHQ have many US-Combat Command. Perhabs with the New M577/wTent?^^
(.... but.... a second german CC Box it's better for me. ;) )

Brutzel, all ya gotta do is ask! Combat commands look like about 20 vehicles. How about a new panzergrenadierkompanie with Pumas reinforced by a Leo 2A6 platoon, a couple trucks, Iltis. We could also do a Deutsche arty batterie CC, OR how about a tank-heavy team CC?

I am hoping for a few more infantry releases next year :)

East German and British troops for Cold War and respective Heavy Weapons packs.

Australian Infantry with current weapons such as Carl Gustav and EF90 etc.

Resized Vietnamese US troops so they are more in line with the rest of the troops choices *they're a little too big in some cases*

US and Russian support weapons, so things like TOW missile launcher, AGS-17, Mk19 grenade launchers etc.

Modern 'Arab Spring' insurgents, so more like the rebels we have seen in Libya/ Syria with advanced weapons.

Modern 'Arab Spring' militias - like the above, but with uniform to represent semi-official forces.

ISIS heavy weapons teams - we already have one set to blow up, may as well have another! ;)

Hi panzergator!
The Iltis is retired. The "Wolf" is up to date.(N525 & N565) :)
Everything you say would be great, but GHQ must also pay attention to the viability of the product. How much would a new CC buy from it? Or rather another CC from the US Army?

CG2 GHQ already make a DD Sherman
Also, command pack for the UK (at least late war and for actual combat units) would have m/c, Humber utility 4WD, 15cwt water truck x 2 or 3 (must have tea!).
I'd also be happy for GHQ to produce another UK 3 ton 4x4 truck (like a Fordson) so we can by 5 in a pack instead of 4 like we have to with the QLD, and throw the useless QLR away. (Put the QLR in a command pack with the tilly and a snipe!) The UK didn't use the 4x2 OYD in NW Europe for combat units.

Thanks for info on Iltis. Brutzel. You can substitute something else. You should be the one to make the request for the German CCs and put in the correct vehicles
My suggestions were only examples.
