I am curious who, if anyone makes miniatures suitable in our scale? For troops themselves I would think the N562 Modern French Individual Infantrymen would be best. Anything else out there? I am looking for troopers with suitable 'kit'

As for vehicles there are plenty of suitable helis. But what about small vehicles? Dirt bikes, quads, various unarmoured, but heavily armed and crewed cross country transports (small capacity). As for boats Scotia makes men in rubber rafts and semi hard assault boats. PT dockyards used to make SOC-R boats but the molds died with my order.

In addition who makes standing figures firing crew served weapons? I am talking M2s, grenade launchers, etc.. Also suitable weapons, M2s not on tripods, GLs, miniguns (my favorite need), twin M240s/M60s, etc.. Could use a lot of these on helis, swift boats and PBRs since they are presently crewed by ghosts.

Turns out Scotia has a selection of FAVs armed with all sorts of weapons. Also turns out they must have been around for over 25 years as I have 9 of them with various weapons.

I also found in my collection what looks like a small quad with a driver only and some kind of load which looks like a milan, or grenade launcher in some kind of mount in the back. Have to do some research to find it, nothing I have found on Scotia or H&R matches.

What I had in mind for present day versions of the FAV are the LTATV for smaller (2 man) operations or the MRZR-4 for up to 4 persons.

I run SF in my forces, I usually utilise a different colour style on them. For my SF elements I paint them in a distinctly different uniform (example being Australian SF using US camo vs our Aussie gear) and I sometimes make a small effort to give them different gear...

Again using my Aussies as an example, my normal soldier is the French infantry, as the bullpup rifle design is sufficiently similar to an F88 with the right painting for my purposes... whereas almost all my SF utilise the M4 carbine from the US ultra-modern forces, because, well, that's what they have!

For my USMC Raider battalion I go for a different uniform... predominantly the helmets (a number of Raider photos I have seen have bare dark green helmets vs ones with a protective cover). I also paint the weapons slightly differently so they look as though they have been given the 'upgrades' one would expect of SF. In some cases I have also mixed a few Israeli soldier packs into the mix, just to provide some custom appearances.

Vehicle wise, we are limited, but the FAV is a good start but is pretty much it for your kind of FAV you want. However; but if you look around, there are plenty of weapon options hidden amongst the other designs!

TOW missiles and M60's in the M151 pack
.50 cals in most Humvee open top packs and various other options with a .50 cal on a pintle mount
MMG's on a vast number of options
Mk19 AGL in the HEMTT gun truck
Minigun on the OH-6A/ OH-58A can be modded to become a pintle mount.

Many choices!

Yah. I'm not buying packs of minis just for the details. Good idea if you want/need the un-equipped figures for something but...

But you don't need to buy the minis! You can get parts orders as well

Sure, it is a little pricey, but if you want selection and want to stick with GHQ then them's the breaks!
