To the painter of the U.K. shermans

Post by traveller »

Got a question for ya. How did you do the markings on the M4A2 75mm Sherman w/ Sand Shield? Where they decals or did you print them? If they were decals where did they come from? Or how did you print them? What ever way you did them they look mighty fine and I'm envious.Hope you can help, thanks/

UK Shermans

I am not sure who did that UK Sherman that is posted in the catalog. My guess is probably Cama but can't be sure about that nor do I have any idea where these British fender markings might be commercially available.

I too would love some British unit markings in 1/285th scale. I think they would be large enough to show up. When I did the M3A3 Stuart for the catalog, I cobbled together my own but it was a lot of work, especially if you are trying to do a complete unit.

That was a really nice paint job. I guess it never occurred to me to put the same kind of effort into 1/285 scale as I put into 1/35th until I saw some of the work on this forum. I'm stripping all of my stuff to start again. That should take up some time I would otherwise have to devote to Facebook. If I did Facebook....

Thanks for gettin' back to me. There's a space in the market for some unit U.K.markings, hint to Dan Arute of Carrier deck decals. They are superb and finish the carriers off great. Would be good to see the same for 1/285 vehicles.

Thanks for the info,Cama, you certainly made a great job of that one. I'll have to keep an eye out for those decals, thanks again.

Sorry to hear about the extended disability, but I am glad you are back in GHQ and, hopefully, back on the forum. There is plenty of room for non-gamers who enjoy other aspects of the hobby. I'm sure you will continue to impress us.

Welcome back Cama. Good to see you posting.

Did you try to keep painted markings accurate or just invent your own? I have a bunch of firefly I am working on and want to make them a little more interesting. I have the tiny brush ready to go...
