Since there is no search function here and trying to go to my profile page is also a no go I have no way of searching my previous post about metal GHQ buildings from the past. So it was with great joy that an old friend who I have not seen for 22 years returned, amongst a lot of forgotten items, my old lead buildings.

I am not on any image sharing site and it seems that is required to post images here. If someone wants to PM me with an offer to host pictures of these old models or if I am mistaken and someone can tell me how to post them from my computer, I will show what I have found.

In total I have 7 models of 4 buildings. One is a church, one an open ended garage/shed, one a larger closed workshop or barn and the last a "typical" eastern front house. There is no makers ID on any surface but I seem to remember they are by GHQ either from the late '70s or very early '80s. The church is composed of 2 walls with attached roof sections, 2 ends and a chimney. The open shed is four walls (one of which is just a flat section of the roof support and three thin vertical bits with a one piece roof. The house and barn are four separate walls and a one piece roof. The house has a separate little out building or attached shed/outhouse(?) and a more substantial chimney than the church. I remember they were a total pain to build, especially the barn (the open end was extremely fiddly, and the church as the wall roof combo sections would not stay put.

If anyone is interested reply and I will go into more detail. If someone wants to help me post pictures that would help explain things more. If I am totally out to lunch that these are GHQ, or hopefully someone else knows of them and can verify, let me know as well.[/img]

Thank you. Seems like the only options are start my own web page, find another place I can post already or join one of the picture hosting sites. The last option, based on recent experience, seems to have lots of drawbacks, ads or redirects.

You could start a free website on Weebly. I have one and it works great.

Any better idea on the date they were available? Maybe an old catalog listing. More curious how old I was when I assembled and painted them.

Looks like the chimney from your wooden house has gone AWOL over the years. I am thinking the "church" may actually be a "town" house. I really like them and wouldn't mind picking some more up. Nostalgia really. They were such a PITA to assemble!

I would've bought these in the early 80s, either at Kings Hobby Shop in Austin or Killeen Hobby Center. No idea when GHQ stopped offering these though.

They were a complete pain to assemble as I recall. And the quality control wasn't the best. One of my townhouses didn't get a wall with a door. I think they were too heavy for the ca glue back in those days. The glue would try before you could get the pieces together, or the fit was so poor the only thing I glued was my fingers!

I don't use them anymore but don't know that I can part with them.

Sounds familiar. Memories of pain in the a$$! Too attached to toss. I think I made them up with CA as well. Usually CA turns brittle after a dozen years or so....

Cave dog I used to buy my MA from Wendal too. But really didn't play as Much till Mike Taylor opened Regiments. Then much later at Great hall games in Austin.
