Who has used GHQ paints and your experience with them? I have to buy all new paints. They did not fair well in long term storage. So I’m wondering if the house paint is worth investing into or should I look at other offerings that are available to modelers.

I have been told they work well.
My only reason for not using them has been a lack of local supply.

I have used them. While they provide good coverage they tend to dry out once the bottles have been opened. I will buy certain colors and try to use them as quickly as possible. Howard Hues are supposed to last a long time. I got some discounted |Vallejo paints which lasted at least a year.

Thanks for the info! I’ll have to take a drive up to my local hobby shop and see what they have in stock. Want to stay away from the shorter shelf life paint.

I have some Vallejo paints that are 10+ years old and still as good as new.
I have some Coat d'Arms paints that are 5+ years old.
Warning on Howard Hues: they are very thick (they are, in fact, specialized house paint, bought in gallons and re-packaged). I've used them in the past on 25mm and liked them, but not sure how they would work on 1/285.
All that said, if you are determined to shop in person you'll have to take what you can get I guess.
