1. Buying a collection at .25 each. Most mint unpainted over 2k mini....hmm maybe less then $.25
2. Trading micro machines for a collection. Got over 2k m1a1 and 2k Russian stuff.
Sold or traded most away
3. Buying a friend collection at .50 ea but then found none one in area to play with anymore.
4. Gaming wholesale closing down . Brought new packs at $1 a pack

5. Trading in box tops from ghq. I had enough to get almost 100 packs. But ghq got upset and stop that offer.

Bidding on a collection (before I owned any at all) on a whim at a con. Minimum bid $50. Never thought I had a chance, but I was the only bidder.

They needed a sort and a lot of love, but I had over 350 vehicles. All simply spray painted, and I;ve been painting and trading them ever since...

Nashorn you scored some amazing deals, I’ve never had that luck. I got two unused combat commands for $20 - that’s as best as I’ve gotten.

Generally buy new stuff nowadays, and stay away from older sculpts (mostly because I have a bunch and you can tell the difference- Wespe, Panther etc).

Yea but that all was 10 + years back.
Not many collectors in my area any more. Anything listed on eBay usually command high prices.
I got rid of ghq older casting years ago. Don't see many floating around these days.

Mine was not GHQ but store getting rid of another manufacture sold me 200 packs for 50 bucks. Sold off just the German WWII stuff to get my money back, still have 175 packs of the rest!

My best GHQ deal was when one of the local game stores in Phoenix was closing in the late 90s. They had part of a wall dedicated to GHQ stuff. Toward the end, they were selling their blister packs of GHQ for $1.00 each off the normal $7.00 or $8.00 list price.

I ended up buying some extras of things I already had plus a nearly complete WWII Italian navy with some battleships, cruisers, and destroyers plus some other ships as well.

In addition, they had carried a full line of Sea-Bat Replica decals and were selling those for $1.00 each so I stocked up on almost the whole line.

Bought 1/2 price some 40 new blisters, WW2 Germans and Brits.

Bought at $1 each some 100 Tiger I minis, mint new and for .50 each some 100 old casting T-34/85, painted.

I bargained on the T34/85: "You're asking me $1 for the new cast Tigers and the same price for the old painted T34? They look terrible! No Way, I don't want them!" Got them!

The best deal I DIDN'T get was at the NHMGS Enfilade convention three years ago. In their Bring & Buy, there was a large cardboard box filled with maybe 150 unopened GHQ blister packs. I looked at the tag, which said $10 and thought, "Gee $10 each is bit expensive. I moved on to the next item and the guy behind me immediately grabbed the box, rushed to the desk at which point I realized it was $10 for the entire box.

That was a sweetheart deal. To ease your pain maybe they were 150 packs of the same thing of which you already had multiples (Sherman’s hahaha).
