Bright Star Light: Tankfest 2018 Moroccodom

Moroccodom and the Commonwealth of Chrisdom invite Armored, Mechanized/Motorized Infantry, Artillery battery, Air Defense, Recon/Scouts. 1 or 2 Battalions, a Brigade as the largest size please. Support will be needed for your needs. Expect a 3 week program
.
The Tankfest 2018 Committee is looking sponsors for the Bright Star Light in Moroccodom for specific events, lectures and seminars, field training, competition events. (send $ to PPL, not really), medical, logistics and supply, maintenance, C3i
.
Would like to have various National military to send trainers to host and facilitate specific events.
.
Range Week: Tank fire, fire as platoon, fire as a company.
Artillery fire: planned fire and fire on the move, and protective fire (smoke).
Mechanized/Motorized Units: Fire as platoon, as company. This will include ATGM fire.
.
War Games. Will initially begin with company vs. company, then battalion vs battalion, then combined multi-nation force vs multi-nation force war games. This will also have multiple iterations, with exchanging of some national units from Red to Blue and vis-a-versa. Inital plan for multi-national force is 1 day to plan, with 2 days of maneuver, with 3 rotations expected.

The ROD is very excited to participate in this event! We would love to assist with the artillery related training. We have 2 full brigades of artillery in addition to the direct support arty, so we can provide a multitude of trainers and resources. We can bring towed guns, self-propelled guns, rockets, and counter-fire radar to train with for other nations to play with.

We are planning to bring the 5th Tank Battalion (M1A2), the 7th Mech Infantry Battalion (M2A3), and B Battery / 18th Artillery Battalion (M109A6). We will also bring 2nd Brigade HQ that can provide C2 for the tent city / cantonment area and it can also participate in the exercise if needed. We will also bring some assets from 21st Transportation Battalion for logistical support and we can bring a medical detachment as well if it’s needed.

Bright Star: Tankfest 2018 will begin in about 2 weeks, in September.
This will allow enough time for countries to get their units to Moroccodom, because of Logistics constraints (and me enough time to figure out what the heck I'm gonna do).
.
for arrival day, all members participating, observers are invited to a cocktail party and dinner. Plan on Lamb chop steaks, Goat steak and Goat stew, veggies, and salad. Sponsored by GHQ Models, The Name in Micro Armor.

Early arrival is permitted to visit the terrain and courses that the training and contest will take place along with facilities.

You should run a BrightStar at Recon.

ROD units are departing now. The MV Fifi McAfee is departing Mahishmati with the 5th tank and 7th mech battalions. The MV Thrombosis is departing San Andreas Bay in the ROD with artillery and support assets.

We also have several cargo planes heading to Morrocodom to install moving target systems for the artillery ranges. These can be used for the tank ranges as well. We have miles ad miles of flex track that we can lay down and the targets will move along the track and pop up and down. These are great for calling for fire on moving targets!

The ROD staff has some great planning tools that were used for the fighter rodeo. We will share them with you to see if they are helpful.

The government of Yer Bouti will monitor the Brightstar exercise with some vigilance.
Not having full diplomatic ties with Moroccodom we are not concerned with it's domestic maneuvers.
However we would be saddened to see any attempt to use this as a cover to legitimize this CofC member State annexation of territory.
The site locations of the intended areas of exercises should be handled with discretion to avoid any misunderstanding.

Are PMC's allowed to participate or is this limited to sovereign nations? If Permissible, Damocles Limited would like to send a company of M60A3s and support equipment.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.

The artillery range is just about ready for the exercise as well. The moving target system has been installed in the artillery impact area and we still have plenty left over for the tank ranges. The ROD will set up a robust Fire Direction Center to safely coordinate the firing of artillery and mortars during range week. We will operate without encryption and we will bring some extra SINCGARS radios just in case our coms aren’t compatible with other countries’ equipment.

We are bringing 120mm mortars, M109A6 Paladin 155mm self-propelled howitzers, M198 155mm towed howitzers, M110A2 8â€￾ self-propelled howitzers, and M270 MLRS for range week. We will also have two Q-36 radars. Everyone is welcome on the firing line, in the FDC, and on the observation post. Feel free to roll up and start banging away. Also, please feel free to hop on one of the ROD’s gun crews or get behind some binoculars on the OP. We will have experienced NCOs with the guns, the FDC, and with the observers to make sure everyone gets some hands-on experience.

The YB government thanks the NDA for their vigilance but please rest assured that the YB armed forces are more than capable of defending the Nation.

Following the recent meetings between Monaco and YBC, a small delegation will travel to Moroccodom to observe the Brightstar exercise.
Also in a show of openness, notice and flight plans will be filed for the intended daily reconnaissance missions.

The ROD was going to bring a tank battalion and a mech battalion, plus some artillery. But since registration seems a bit low we are going to leave the grunts at home and just go with the tanks. For the exercise we will have 5th Tank Battalion, B Battery / 18th Artillery Battalion, and a sapper platoon. Total of 188 vehicles and 605 personnel for the exercise. We will have additional artillery units for range week only, and we will have logistical and support assets deployed to the tent city, but they are not for the exercise.

ROD Tank Fest Registration

5th Tank Battalion
-150 vehicles
-450 personnel

B Battery / 18th Artillery (+)
-31 Vehicles
-115 personnel

Sapper Platoon
-4 M113s, 1 M9 ACE, 2 M728 CEV
-40 personnel

Camp Olympus was completed this morning and certified as ready to accept units. The camp has several housing areas, each with GP large tents for barracks, tentage for shower and laundry, and tentage for coking and dining. There are also facilities for vehicle maintenance and a troop medical clinic.

The 2nd Armored Brigade command post has been set up to serve as the mayor’s cell and the unit movement office for Camp Olympus. Warfighting gear has ben removed so that there is space for briefings and the commo gar is still intact to coordinate range and training activities.

The mayor’s cell is staffed. The first ROD personnel are scheduled to arrive by air tomorrow. ROD equipment arrive at the port tonight with unloading scheduled for early tomorrow morning. The 21st Transportation Battalion has line haul assets at the port ready to move vehicles and equipment to Camp Olympus.

This morning the ROD contingent began to arrive at Camp Olympus for the Tank Fest. The units arriving from the port are primarily Task Force Rhino – the 5th Tank Battalion, plus attached sapper platoon and howitzer battery. Most of the personnel are bussing from the airport directly to the camp, but about 100 soldiers will bus to the port where they will pick up the wheeled vehicles and drive them to the camp. All tracked vehicles will be line hauled to the camp, as we as the shipping containers that contain supplies and ammunition.

In addition to Task Force Rhino, a battery worth of artillery is also moving from the port to Camp Olympus. This consists of 3 x M198 towed howitzers, 3 x M10A2 self-propelled howitzers, 1 x M170 MLRS SPLL, and a robust fire direction center.
