I assume you've seen an eye doctor by now?

If your eyesight is changing rapidly, there could be an underlying medical reason and it would be wise to check.

If it's just the usual slow decline - join the club! I didn't wear glasses until I was in my late 40's and I've had to change my prescription recently so..?

Yep - need magnifiers for detailed work...

Hey Uncle Fireball,
I'll second seeing a ** CENSORED **. Like my parents you may require surgery but hopefully not. In the meanwhile you can activate the magnifier on your computer to help you keep up on the forums. Stay grumpy, my friend.

-Steve

edit: not sure why the forum software censored that word. Let's just say see a doctor.

The censor on this program is arbitrary and uneducated. It's also automated. It cannot think and it does not understand English.

Fireball, you have a reason to be grumpier. Have similar problems - harder to see. Macular edema has given me the gift of six shots (so far) to the middle of my pupil - you can see it coming! And thank you, US Army, for the garbled conversation around the table and on TV that I cannot understand. My grandson ensures my civility around family, though. Brings me back from the dark side.

If you have issues related to your service file a claim with the VA.
The best to you fireball.

Well that sucks. Hope you find a way to mitigate things and keeping throwing potato mashers at us here in the forum. Even if you have a proxy typing for you. Good luck Fireball.

Fireball,
I was a bit slow to catch on the the imagination....then had to think of who, what, where, ...force, etc. It has been an interesting at times exercise. Think of what I wrote for consistency and some sense of reasonableness.
God's Peace to You - Shalom. Mybuhay - "to live", "live great".

Fireball,
Getting old is a bummer, I'm with you on the vision.
I need glasses to read/paint anything now. For a former pilot it sucks.
For one who climbed mountains with ease the ankles and wrists now take longer to mend.
Skiing kills me the next day, days.
However I am reminded now and then by a good friend, "heck didn't think we would ever make it this far!" and he is spot on.

In 1982 I got a second birthday, that's the one I celebrate the most now.
Just think how lucky we are to have so much to complain about.
Have another Whiskey and be a grumpy old bugger with empathy.

Cheers,
Mick.

After that dust up with PZ G. over my thread things is like to see. After 5 years of doing it i felt I was unfairly treated so I just decided to stop posting. And TBH i don't like the imagination thing either.

Whoa,

It was never my intent to create any dustup with you or anyone else. I will happily concede to you in the coming year's thread if it will encourage you to restart posting here. I started thw thread to keep the idea going because you hadn't. So long about the expiration of this year's list, how about starting again, please.

Spray paint, Fireball. It may not be interesting, it may not be detailed, but use flathead nails in a 2x4, stick on the tanks, and spray. Just like hitting the toilet.

Fireball - basically:

He means to use white glue (old Elmer's or similar) to attach the parts to the top of nails. Then set those nails in a board to keep them upright while you spray paint over them.

Much quicker - and easier on the eyes than painting each by hand.
