A Royal Canadian Navy fleet is already steaming towards Brazil as we speak, the ship will rendezvous with the Brazilian Light Crusier NAe Almirante Barroso (C-11) at the port of Rio de Janeiro. from there Canadian troops will disembark and make there way to the border with Venezuela to support Brazilian ground forces.

The ROD is dispatching the carrier Armageddon with a battle group to the area to assist with ensuring that the Panama ** CENSORED ** remain open. 1st SHAM is departing Angola today, returning to South America. The much larger hospital ship Asclepius is being readied for deployment along with a supply ship with food and supplies. The current humanitarian disaster in Venezuela may require a much larger medical and support presence than 1st SHAM can provide.

The UIN is asking which members, who will be helping with the stabilization of Venezuela?
We are wanting perhaps 1 or 2 more participants in the process to help the free world.
. The people of Venezuela need your help.

This morning the ROD officially launched Operation Escudo Sur – the military response to the crisis in Venezuela. At this time, the mission is to provide humanitarian assistance and ensure that the Panama ** CENSORED ** and surrounding waters remain open and free to navigate. ROD forces will be operating as part of a multi-national task force under the overall command of US Southern Command (Lt Gen Clark, commanding).

The primary purpose of the operation is not to take direct military action in Venezuela, Brazil, Panama, or surrounding countries. However, if deemed necessary, we are prepared to conduct air strikes and limited ground operations with the forces available. No ROD ground combat units have been deployed to the region.

ROD forces committed to Operation Escudo Sur:

Carrier Battle Group 8 – departed home port in the ROD this morning:
JFK Class Aircraft Carrier Armageddon (CV-8 )
Iowa Class Battleship Fenris (BB-11)
Ticonderoga Class Cruiser Retriever (CG-44)
Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer Catapult (DDG-109)
Spruance Class Destroyer Rapier (DDG-116)
OHP Class Frigate Goblin (FFG-153)
OHP Class Frigate Minotaur (FFG-156)
Sacramento Class Support Ship Grizzly (AOE-91)

Embarked aboard the Armageddon is Carrier Air Wing 4:
VF-1 Myrmidons (12 x F-4S)
VFA-5 Buccaneers (12 x F/A-18C)
VA-14 Barbarians (12 x A-6E)
VFA-17 Wasps (12 x F/A-18C)
VS-44 Hellfire (8 x S-3B)
HCS-56 Angry Hornets (8 x SH-60F)
Det B / VAQ-10 Bandits (4 x EA-6B)
Det A / VAW-57 Wizards (4 x E-2C)

As always, submarines may or may not be present in the battle group.

1st SHAM is approaching from the African coast, and will participate in Operation Escudo Sur.

In addition to the ships already underway, several ships are making preparations to deploy if the order is given. The Mercy Class hospital ship Asclepius is preparing to deploy along with the support ships Bison and Impala, both of which are being loaded with food, medical supplies, water purification equipment, and generators. The Blue Ridge Class command ship Achilles is also being readied in the event that a seaborne command post is needed to coordinate efforts.

Several amphibious assault ships are being prepared for deployment and the 2nd battalion, ROD Marine Regiment has been placed on alert for possible deployment. While not specifically alerted, the 15th Infantry Battalion (Airborne) is on 4-hour recall as part of the Army’s routine deployment readiness rotation. The Ministry of Defense has reiterated that there are no plans to deploy ground combat forces to the region, but that if the mission changes the ROD will be ready.

Operation V-Kabab
Naval Task for 19-1 made port at Ft. Randolph. The transport ships landed Marines 351 Marine Battalion, conducting a mock landing assault on the beaches. The 5th Bat of the 2nd Brigade of the 101 Airborne defended the shore line. Close engagement, but the air support with F-35 and Super Cobras and the fire support from the ships turned the tide.
. At Ft Randolph, engineers are working on functional improvements for the base. Working to have the water running, the toilets is a real issue and the sewer drain field & sewage facility. Electricity generation is proving to be a beast, difficult to have the system function properly 24/7.
.
Lt Gen Clark held a press conference. One question asked was when will you, the US forces actual go in-country of Venezuela? First, we will not go in alone, so other nation partners will need to provide humanitarian aid and provide security to all. This is an operation to counter Al Kabab or as they are know in Venezuela as V-Kabab. Some reports coming from in country are distressing. Fighting is taking place in many towns and cities, where innocent civilians have been killed. People have lost homes, family members, and freedom. So, we need the help of other nations to activity participate.
.
Medical detachment from CoC has arrived, with nurses, doctors, technicians, and other support personal in addition security group. Equipment has started the process of being off-loaded and set up in the old hospital and some medical tents on the grounds of the hospital which does have capability for helicopter med-vac flights to land.

In South-Central America
Major General Smith is moving his command to Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago (T&T). T&T is just off the coast of Venezuela vs. over 400 miles away. All support ships, military equipment, and men that are expected to be in direction operational control of Operation V-Kabab are being re-routed to Port of Spain. Planning staff has expanded to almost 500 people. Logistics support is over 1200 personnel.
Gen Clark will remain at Ft. Randolph, as the base has now been re-established.
. As MajGen Smith transfers to T&T, more planes and ships are expected for the men and equipment needed. Docking is expected for the first ships within hours, some already en-route for Ft Randolph. Ft. Red is the new base in T&T. Planes are landing now at a military base made available by Trinidad & Tobago (T&T), that does have a runway. The 5 Bat, 2nd Brigade, 101 is moving by transport ship to T&T.
. 195th Infantry Brigade is flying in to Ft. Randolph, the 3rd Battalion has already landed. Air defense assets are deployed, more permanent systems are being set up. The engineers are continuing work on the base. There is an upgrade to the fiber optic, although it is not hardened.
. P-8 and other surveillance aircraft have landed at Ft. Randolph along with their support.
.
The CoC medical group is packing the tents, back to the ship to move to Port of Spain. A Type 23 Frigate is the escort for the medical and supply ship.

The Government of Venezuela has issued the following statement that they will reject any and all forms of aid from all foreign country's coming into the nation, doing so will be considered as an act of aggression, the Venezuelan Military will be ready to respond with deadly force if necessary. currently we are cracking down anyone who supports Al-Kabab.

Carrier Battle Group 8 has arrived in the Panama ** CENSORED ** Zone. They remain on the Pacific side. Colombia has granted the ROD permission to use their airspace if needed, and their ports are open to the ROD ships. 1st SHAM's last trip to Colombia seems to have paved the way for a solid collaborative relationship between the two countries.

1st SHAM has arrived off the coast of Colombia on the Atlantic side. Once again they are landing the security, engineer, and medical companies to provide assistance to refugees fleeing Venezuela. The clinic that 1st SHAM set up several weeks ago is still up and running with Colombian personnel, so the ROD troops will be building a second clinic. Initially the clinic will be in the medical company tents, but the engineer company is hard at work creating a fixed structure with running water and electricity.

Trinidad & Tobago
Two days ago, Maj.Gen. Smith called for the CO of the CoC to come to the Port of Spain, T&T. After arriving yesterday, Col Jaque, MD was lectured about his medical operation being in Grenada vs. closer here on T&T. The medical services may well be needed to save lives. It will be better if here in Trinidad and Tobago. Before you get set up, are you able to come down here. We have an hospital building to use that the US Engineers have been working on. You will have a self-contained unit on the larger base. Col. Jaque, MD agreed, saying he would make those arrangements immediately.

Yer Bouti is to provide intelligence assistance to Venezuela with regard to combating Al-Kabab. Material support has not been requested or required.

YB condemns the spread of the CofC military to yet another region of the World. No doubt a little "dom" will be thrust upon a host base area.
Just the first move in a power grab for Panama?

Following the ROD SHAM Fleet laying in wait Is a sea hunter of a different bread. The Deadly Pirate U-Boats, one of these U-Boats PU-55, had intercepted the 1st SHAM Fleet while en route to Columbia, for the Pirate captain of PU-55 seeing potential salvage and loot from the SHAM fleet must have made a enticing target, aquiring a target lock, PU-55 took aim and fired three torpedos on the Odysseus, the first Torpedo struck the engine room midships 30 crew where killed, another struck just aft of the first, then the third and final one blew off the rear doors of the LPD causing rapid flooding, just 15 mins later the Odysseus sank to the Ocean floor. the sub then dived and fled the scene before any aircraft spotted them.
