I'm very sorry for your loss FB. Life is definitely not fair. We have to be thankful for every minute or day we get.
Hang in there.

Sad for your loss, Fireball. Now out away the booze. It won't help.

Fireball,
Let's celebrate your friendship with your dear friend for so long. That is treasured. As PG wrote, stay away from and out of the booze. Pray, talk a walk while reflecting. It is sad, eve Jesus was sad. Write thoughts on paper in a journal. You are better off to have know him, friended him, loved him, then lose him; than not ever to have me met him. Look for blessings.
Shalom - God's Peace to you.

I'm sorry Fireball. As others said, it's ok to put the glass down. Remember your friend and celebrate their life.

Fireball,
Sorry to here about your loss. Take the time you need to process all of what you feel. Everyone does so at there own place so don't rush moving forward before you are ready.

A friend of mine lost an old chum he know since high school.
He sat down on his front porch. Poured two shots of fine whiskey, lit up two fine cigars. Left one shot and cigar sitting next to the chair his friend usually sat in and sipped his whiskey and smoked his cigar.
When this was done, he put out his friends cigar and poured the shot of whiskey out.
That's how he closed out those good old days...
We all have our own way of dealing with the loss of someone we loved. Make your own way.
