How many bins do you have to clean? And I'm also curious to know what method/ cleaners you used on them. I recall the discussion about how best to tackle the cleaning, but I don't remember what you decided on.

That makes want to start building up my Canadian Army and RCAF collection again as considering that we got new models now.

OMG

I was complaining when I had to clean up 5-10 models for my re-do...

That is quite the project! That should keep you busy for a while. lol

What are stripping the paint with? I have used Simple Green most recently. Pinesol and Acetone, as well as paint stripper in the past. Trying to reduce flammability and toxicity.

Just clean models of smoke but not stripping of paint.
Spraying really hot water and some dawn seems to get it off.
Then cleaning the container they were in

Cleaning

Post by Nepty »

I bought a Sper Scientific Ultrasonic cleaner for my glasses.
It also works well for cleaning micro armor.
I soak the micro armor in Simple green for about 2 days then brush most of the paint off with a tooth brush. Then I put the models in the Ultrasonic cleaner add water and some Simple green and Wa La !!!. It takes the rest of the paint off in 360 seconds. They come out looking brand new.

Good luck

I’ll have look into the ultrasound clean when removing paint.
I’m just removing the suited from smoke.
Amazing how it’s into everything
I just going clean for now too much work to organize them.
It’s funny I haven’t seen some of this stuff in 10+ years
