The US Marine Corps is apparently Dr-activating its tank battalions.

Canada tried to get rid of tanks during the 2000's, but we reversed quickly once we found ourselves in the thick of things in Afghanistan. In the end, we actually upgraded our tank force...
Also, the US Army has been "upgunning" Strykers for the last few years... another reversal from what they envisioned.
With that said, the focus on EABO and A2/AD will help to differentiate the Marines from the Army and give them a purpose that is more clear rather than just being a "poorer, fitter, second army" (Not my words...those of a USMC member I worked with in the Middle East)
But I'm still not sure I'd be getting rid of tanks...

Anyone that reads up on this recent USMC stuff will notice they are doing some interesting stuff with their HIMARS, and plan to do even more with them long term.
