GHQ In Tucson

Next weekend I'm taking the family on a vacation, and as always I'm keeping my eyes out for wargaming shops or any stores that might carry GHQ miniatures. Does anybody know if there are any in the Tucson, AZ area?

I don't know much of the stores in AZ to be honest Redleg. But I would not be surprised if they don't carry GHQ. With hobby stores these days its kinda a hit or miss when it comes to carrying a certain miniatures game you play, outside of Warhammer 40k, or Magic the Gathering.

Trust me Im currently dealing with a local "hobby" store chain, that hardly does anything miniature gaming related at all.

Vacationing in the Tucson, AZ area? Im kidding. Tombstone might be a fun place to see if you want to capture the wild wild west. They host an OK Corral gun show. I think its about 1h to 1h 15m away.

I checked in on the Tucson scene and there is not much.

One place that comes to mind is called "Isle of Games". But I think its more general in nature. They have your paints and used games for sale. Not much in wargaming I believe.

If you choose to go north 45-60 minutes to the Phoenix suburb Tempe, then you have the Hobby Depot. That has stock in items you might be looking for.

Heading into the NW area of Phoenix will land you in a place called Imperial Outpost Games.

I hope that helps.

Good luck.

Hi Redleg!

I don't know Tucson but there are at least 2 decent game stores in the greater Phoenix area.

Game Depot is in Tempe and Imperial Outpost Games is in Glendale which is in the West Valley. Sadly, neither one stocks GHQ on a regular basis although both carry historical wargames.

Imperial Outpost which is closer to my neck of the woods has other historical miniatures like Flames of War and some others plus a decent gaming area.

If you happen to get up to the Phoenix area feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the info, Guys! Yeah, we're stopping at Tombstone on Saturday the 27th and then on the 28th we get to some dude ranch called Tanque Verde to do some fishing and horse stuff. Maybe I can just maneuver us on the I10 into the Phoenix area!

Hi Redleg

I forgot to mention that while the 2 stores I mentioned are good and have some historical games and miniatures, neither one has GHQ products.

Both have had them in the past but they don't regularly stock them now. Unfortunately this seems to be the norm for most game stores.

Redleg,

The Pima Air and Space Museum right outside of Tucson is four hangers plus a large outdoor ramp of beautifully restored US and foreign aircraft from the Wright Brothers through the space age.

Doesn't cost much to get in plus they have a veterans discount. It takes a good 4-6 hours to see it all and definitely take the tram to see the outdoor ramp.

It is right across the highway from the famous "Boneyard" which requires reservations and security clearance like 8 weeks in advance to get in to visit.

They have a nice gift shop but unfortunately no GHQ.
