Hi Gang

I have been a member here for a long time. With the encouragement and help of my very good friend, Begemot, I have decided to start my own little thread which I will call Pete's Place. This will be a place where I can post my pictures and maybe even share some of my techniques for those that are interested.

Earlier this week, I finished 6 GHQ Panther A and G models. Here is a photo of the group.Image

Hi Pete,

Wow, long overdue! The Panthers look fantastic! Great job.

Are you drilling into the barrels? I like the steel colored touch on the tracks. Very well done.

Hi Polish GI

Thank you very much! I drilled the gun barrels as well as the exhausts on these.

Pete, this is great news! I've always admired your work and I'm glad there's so much of it in the GHQ catalog!

Your photos will be helpful for all, please don't be shy in posting :D

I second (or third or fourth) the invitation to post more pics of your work. It's always inspiring to see what you produce.

I like the name too. Pete's Place sounds like a great place to have a cold beer and push some lead around!

Thank you all for your kind words! I really appreciate it.

As mentioned, I will give some credit here to my good friend, Begemot, for his encouragement and help in doing this. We have known each other for over 40 years and have been excellent friends throughout.

I hope that "Pete's Place" will be a fun place for all. Feel free to have a beer while you check it out. My idea is to provide some pictures of my finished work or things I am working on. I also provide some thoughts and tips on how I paint these little 1/285th scale models.

It was many years ago now that my friend 8Ball and I came up with the "Show Us Your Stuff" thread here on the GHQ Forum and it is still going strong to this day.

Tanner, I hope all is going well with you. It has been a long time since we had lunch together. Maybe we can do it again if you are in town.

Happy 4th of July everybody and have a safe and blessed holiday.

Pete,
Just amazing cammo on those tanks. I have to keep reminding myself this is 1/285 and not 1/35.

Pete I’ve been following these on that other online place and marvelled at the great work you are doing. Giving me inspiration to go back into my GHQ stuff that is lying 2/3 finished.

Thanks very much, Richard! I have been posting my stuff on a lot of 1/285th scale/6mm groups on Facebook. I admit it is easier to post on those sites than here since posting pictures is easier on Facebook.

Having said that, I do want to support the GHQ Forum and start making my small contribution here. GHQ has been very good to me over the years and I really do enjoy painting their miniatures. I still regard them as the best models out there.

I have lots of models I have started over the years and some of them have been sitting around for a long time. I am making an effort to get these done but still starting some new projects from time to time.
