That’s some great looking infantry Pete. It’s interesting you apply some ground cover before basing.

Re: Pete's Place
Thank you both very much, Redleg and Beagle! I appreciate it very much.
Bill, I like to flock the little bases on my troops before putting them on the larger base. For me, it makes flocking the larger bases a bit easier since I don't have to be quite as careful when applying the flock to the larger base. I realize not everyone might like to do this but works for me. I use a small paintbrush to apply the tan paint to the small figure bases and then add the flock while the paint is still wet. I am careful not to cover the feet with paint and or flock. I'm not sure if it makes a difference in the big picture but I do it anyway.

Re: Pete's Place
We basically do the exact same thing, just in a different order. I put the ground cover on the wet paint as well, at least on figure bases, but I like to use the CA to help blend the figure base with actual base. GHQs bases are kind of thick with that square edge, so CA around the sides makes it disappear most of the time, or at least be much less noticeable, the paint and cover.

Here are some pictures of my completed Cold War Russian infantry by GHQ. Each 4 man group represents a platoon. I will be using these guys in my Fistful of TOWs 3 games. I have some Egyptians in progress as well as some West Germans and Americans.

Re: Pete's Place
Thank you very much, Bill! These were my first Post World War II infantry. I have painted WWII before. I have 2 infantry projects going right now. The first is Cold War West Germans. I am using GHQ Third World Regular Infantry to represent them. The kit is very close if not spot on but at 6mm..... The second is more WWII Russian infantry. These are a combination of their 1st and 2nd Russian infantry packs as the first only had submachine gunners.

Here are some pictures of my Cold War West German infantry. These are actually GHQ's Third World Regulars which seem to have pretty much the correct uniforms, helmets, and weapons to use as West Germans. They are mounted on 1" x.075" Litko bases.
