Here are 2 WWII German ships, Lutzow and Hipper that I painted a while back. Lutzow is painted in her Norway invasion scheme of 1940 and Hipper is painted in a 1942 scheme.

Beautiful job on Lutzow Pete. That was my short list of ships to paint right now, and the Norway scheme was what I was going to go with. Did you use lemon yellow for the turret tops? Also, agreed about the spam, that’s what kept me from creating an account for literally years.

Thank you very much, Bill! The turret tops were yellow and I tried to match the color in the illustration I used pretty close. I think I used Humbrol #154 Insignia Yellow with a bit of white added to lighten it. Humbrol does make #99 Lemon Yellow as well but I did not use that.

Ah. I’m in the Vallejo/Panzer Aces faithful. I love their paints. They cover so wonderfully and mix so well. And they are so easy to make a wash with.

Here are a couple of modern American ships I painted for GHQ. They are the LCS-2 Independence and an Arleigh Burke II.

Love that LCS, you mastered the details really well ! I was out at the Naval base in San Diego last summer and saw a handful on the pier, all you are missing are the Covid warning signs and some of the pennants!

Thank you very much, Burt! I checked a lot of images of both ships before painting to try to be reasonably accurate.
