This is the open wish list, with no limits. Please use the GHQ classification and a two or three letter country abbreviation to make it easier for folks to figure out what you mean. Some rationale for its selection might give it a better chance. As you can see from the new annual list, GHQ favors current and recent conflict and participants for a its modern selections.

As soon as I get my mainframe (desktop computer) relocated, I will edit to post GHQ's guidance here. Meanwhile, it is posted on CG2's Consolidated Wish List thread, which he has inactivated

Ultra-modern:
Generic: Quad bikes - used everywhere!
Generic: Snowmobiles - used everywhere where there's snow
Generic: Battlefield UAV selection - a crucial aspect of modern battlefields, too many variants, hence making generic
Generic: Medics (stretcher bearers, CPR, IV drips, etc.) - anyone else feel that CASEVAC is a seriously important aspect in gaming??

British: BvS10 Viking - used in Afghan, Royal Marines, hoofing
British (etc. ): Eurofighter Typhoon - really needed!

Russia: Su-34 - beautiful bird, love it
Russia: DT-30P

Stay safe all.

I will second Redleg's request for Q-36 & Q-37 Firefinder radars. Both deployed and travel configurations.

Hahaha out by a year, but hey, it works.

Cold war:
CHINA:
Type 59-1 main battle tank: Should be the easiest chop and change to do.
Type 63 towed MLRS and towing BJ212 jeep: Because the towed Type 63 launcher is literally EVERYWHERE throughout the third world. You could even have this being supported by Donkeys in a Taliban-style packet.
BJ212 jeeps with recoilless rifles: Airborne light AT vehicle.
Type 70 122mm tube artillery and Type 70 MLRS: Grand-daddies of all modern Chinese SPGs/MLRS: The tube artillery is amazingly still in use!
Type 96 MBT with 'original' turret.

Czech:
RM-70 MLRS: Used by a number of nations.
M53 'Lizard' SPAA gun.

BRAZIL:
EE-3: Unique little wheeled vehicle that would be good to include.
ASTROS II MLRS: Wheeled MLRS still used worldwide today.

YUGOSLAVIA:
M87 Orkan MLRS:
NORA B-52 self-propelled artillery:
OT M-60 APC: A yugoslav M113 but they copied the homework so it looked different.
M-56 light towed gun with FAP truck: Basically a modernised mix of US and German 105mm guns melded together.

THIRD WORLD WARRIORS:
ZPU-2 (new) and re-etched ZPU-4 AAMG with option to be mounted onto a light truck/utility - I feel like process used to make the latest models would really suit to allowing a rebuild of the ZPU-4, and allow for creation of the ZPU-2.
G-5 Howitzer: Because nothing says 'Bush war' like the influence these guns had on some key battles.
G-6 Howitzer: Same as above, but on wheels... still used today.
Rooikat 76: A child of the bush-war and a unique design.
'Generic' Bush war infantry that look remarkably like South African soldiers from the Bush War era. R4 rifles, MAGs, RPG-7s, etc etc.
'Generic' Third World infantry, but instead of G3's, armed with AK's, PKM or MG-42 (Yugoslav M53 'Sarac'), new RPG-7 gunner. M-79 OSA rocket launcher operator.
New 'Third World' heavy weapons to go alongside AK armed troops: MANPADS operator (i.e SA-7 style). Heavy recoilless rifle 106mm M40. RPG-29 'Vampir' rocket launcher. TOW/HJ-8 missile tube operator.

SPAIN:
BMR-600 APC

ITALY:
OTO MELARA 56 light gun: A staple of multiple armies worldwide...

SOVIET:
MSTA-B towed 152mm arty.
ASU-85 assault gun
2S5 Giatsint 152mm SPG

USA:
Replacement soldiers for Vietnam to bring them in line with other models height wise, include M67 90mm Recoilless Rifle.
Add TOW launcher, 106mm RR, SMAW Gunner and Redeye gunner into the mix to make it a Cold War soldier pack.

COLD WAR/MODERN:
LITERALLY ANYTHING NORTH KOREAN
North Korean 'upgrade' pack - 14.5mm MGs, MANPADS launcher assembly/ grenade launcher assembly and ATGM launcher assembly. Goes on turrets mostly of NK tanks.

Ultra-modern:
CHINA:
PGZ-07 - Chinese GEPARD
Type 90 35mm AA gun and Towing truck, or 3x AA guns and 1x Radar trailer - These are basically carbon copies of Swiss GDF-003 anti-aircraft guns and could be added to a number of different army list options.
PZL-05 and PZL-07: Ultra-modern artillery pieces.
SH-5: Ultramodern MLRS
ZTQ-15 light tank.

USA:
Protected Mobility tank - whichever one gets selected.
Bradley AMPV: New turretless Bradley replacing M113.
New Stryker Anti-Aircraft vehicle.
New USMC vehicle: Both 'APC' variant and new 30mm 'Dragoon' variant.
New USMC infantry: M32 Grenade launcher, DMR, M27 IAR, AT-4 etc.

THIRD WORLD WARRIORS:
CUBA: Literally any of their tricked out creations. Particularly the 'Jupiter' class of SPGs
Insurgents: 'Technicals' of all shapes and sizes - MLRS firing dump truck tilt-trays, BMP-turret carrying Land Rovers, ZU-23-2/ S-60 57mm packing utes and trucks etc etc. The list goes on of options you could choose for this!

RUSSIA:
BMP-2M Upgrade with quad ATGMs
BMD-4M: APC version of BMD-4
Kurganets 25 APC
Bumerang variants: APC and IFV variants.
Koalitsiya 152mm arty
Sprut-SD airborne assault gun
New VDV armoured car.
New VDV fast attack buggy both "Eskadron" rocket buggy and normal FAV variants.

YUGOSLAVIA:
M-09 105mm SPG.

Re: The 2020-2021 Wish List Thread

Post by panzergator »

All I can say is the wish list has worked for me. At least one of my requests is usually met. This year it was the M48. Last year, it was the M88A2. Let me not forget the M103 and the M60A2. I can't complain. But I have more requests.

Modern NATO

US - Restore N15, M60 tank, or at least make it available through special order.

US - M800 series 5t truck with tank and pump units w/trailer w/tank and pump unit. Need these for the 50s, 60s, and 70s tank and mech battalions. The tank battalion had 6. Make the truck with an empty bed so it can haul other stuff and sell the tank and pump units separately. Not ideal, but I would use the M900 series with tank and pump units, as well.

US - M520 GOER 8t cargo truck. Used from the Vietnam war through the '70s. A tank battalion had 5 of these, a mech bn has 2. An important main gun round ammunition hauler. I just ordered 6 from Shapeways so I can complete my H series tank battalion, but I would prefer to pay GHQ for a 4- or 5 pack than 11.50 for 2, plus shipping. I have TWENTY-TWO H series battalions which I would LIKE to eventually equip with GOERs, but I will have to forego that for just an example of one if GHQ doesn't make them. Maybe make set pack with two cargo GOERS and one fuel service GOER.

US - Trailers for 2 1/2Ton M35 and 5Ton M800 series trucks cargo and water trailers. The mess trucks need water trailers, the maintenance truck needs its parts trailer, and supply trucks need the space - 5 water trailers per battalion, for instance, 6 trailers with tank and pump units for the POL trucks. The battalion also needs to carry oil and lubricants along to keep things running. A battalion trains area with these things makes a good objective, too.

US - M559 GOER Fuel Service version. Also in use from Vietnam through the '70s. A tank battalion had 4. Critical for refueling tanks. Again, lots of my battalions need these. I don't want to pay 11.50 for ONE from Shapeways.

US - The correct M577 track extension in use from Vietnam through the '90s. Make just the extension. We can use them with the M577s we already have.

US - M37b1 3/4t truck. Important support vehicle throughout '50s and early '60s, including the Vietnam War. In all tank, mech, and arty battalions.

US - M38 1/4t jeep used throughout '50s and early '60s. Used extensively by US Army as well as the Israelis for both transportation and weapons carriers.

US - Davy Crockett, battle group/battalion-level nuclear spigot launcher. Just imagine... Your crazy battalion commander once had 4 NUCLEAR-TIPPED ROCKETS at his disposal for use as he saw fit. Most of my commanders could have handled it, but there were one or two that, even today, the mere thought SCARES THE HELL out of me. Sanity returned about 1965 and the Davy Rocket was withdrawn.

US - M74 armored recovery vehicle. Produced from 1953-1958. Replaced by the M88 in 1961. Used by tank, mech, arty, and engineer battalions throughout the '50s.

DE - M48A2GA2: This is the up-gunned, modernized M48A2, the last M48 model used by the Germans. 105mm gun, new cupola, upgraded fire control, other improvements. A unique, worthy addition to GHQ's now-extensive M48 series line. This tank uses the same chassis as GHQ's M48A5, since they were converted from West Germany's M48A2 tank fleet, so it's a cheap addition - just a new turret.

What the hell, I'll ask anyway...

US - M65 nuclear cannon. It's interesting as all getout. It came in batteries of 2, which would make a good package product. As long as I'm wishing, for my late '50s/early '60s battle group.

US - M59A1 armored personnel carrier late 50s/early '60s. Used in tank and mech battalions as well as the Pentomic infantry division. The Pentomic infantry division did not have mech units, but kept enough M59s to mechanize two battlegroups at a time in the support group transportation unit . (Pentomic era armored divisions did have APC-mounted mech infantry battalions, though they were called armored rifle battalions.)
