Can I have one more shot at the answer?
Akagi was supposed to have a sister ship, Amagi. The Amagi project was abandoned after her under-construction hull was damaged beyond repair during the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.
Thats all I can dig up on that question

Ha, my avoiding the question was not entirely intentional! My father flew in yesterday so I took the old boy out to dinner
But anyway, I've got absolutely no knowledge of naval combat. So there's no way I could begin to answer this question without resorting to a cheeky Google
Which tells me that the Akagi's sistership was the Amagi, who was originally intended to be converted along with the Akagi. The Amagi was scrapped in 1923 while in drydock after the hull received extensive damage from the Great Kanto Earthquake.
I found an interesting image
here in the days after the earthquake showing the Amagi in drydock.
Tell you what, I'll graciously accept the prize and then in return see what packs I can stump up for the next comp?
