Post by chrisswim »

List you favorite Real Tank or Armored Vehicle. List a couple, post your favorite model paint job with camouflage and post a pic of the real vehicle (all optional, just wanted you to know).

Abrams, M1A2 kit bashed with armored buckets and LMG.

Cama,
Post a pic or two. Is that the Leopard 1 with a few tons of add-on armor?

My favorite is the M109A6 Paladin. Here is a pic of micro armor Paladins:

Here is a pic of one of my gun sections in action at Fort Carson way back in the day. I was platoon leader for 2nd Platoon / B Battery / 3rd Battalion / 29th Field Artillery. Note the dots on the FAASV that are supposed to look like dice numbers. These identify the section. 2nd platoon had sections 4, 5, and 6.

Here is a pic of one of my guns during an NTC rotation at Fort Irwin. Most vehicles are drawn from the NTC motor pool for these rotations and they are pretty beat up. Once we drew the vehicles we used 100 mph tape to mark the gun sections in roman numerals.

This is tough. I think the General Motors version of XM1 is my favorite. You might think it would be the M60A2, but it had too many drawbacks. I like MBT70/XM803, but it didn't get the 120mm gun, which would have made it less expensive and more effective.
