Mr. FDD, I just put an order in for the LCC Blue Ridge Class ship. Any chance that there is a helo pad decal coming out for that one?

Dan, You are a Boss. I need to get list together and put in an order really soon. I browsed the new items and was pleased to see that you were increasing the Vehicle decals. I liked seeing some of the vehicle decals that are beyond just numbers and national roundels.

Thank you so much for all that you do in the arena of decals.

Dan, I see the 1/600th invasion stripes on both sheets come in a couple different widths. How would size up on GHQs 1/285th C-47s, Waco’s and Horsa’s? Is there widths on the sheets that would look right despite the scale?

Let me check if I have either in the shop. If not, do you have a micrometer?

I don’t. I’m working on a Micro Armor airborne division, I’d prefer not to paint the stripes if I don’t have to.

Does anybody know what happens if you hit a deck decal with dullcote? My ship is shiny and I want to just blast the whole thing with dullcote, but I don't want it to ruin the decal.

I always dullcote, it’s the only way to take the shine off, plus it seals and protects it to keep if from getting damaged or lifting over time. Don’t blast! I let the decal sit overnight, to make sure the glue is fully dry. I usually clear coat with a few light puffs , letting each coat dry before the next.
I forgot, it also greatly helps to brush on setting solution after the decal is dry, before clear coating. It snuggles the decal down and helps it conform to the model, like the small groves or etching on the deck. I use Micro Sol, but I’m going to try Mr Sol soon.

Beagle,

The largest of the 1-600 Invasion strips will work but give me through the weekend and I will make a couple of 1-300 sets. May need your help on a comparison of the transports to GHQ bombers as I only have the bombers on hand.

Redleg,

Beagle is correct. I strongly recommend always top coating the decals. There are a couple of rules to this. Undercoats have to all be gloss coat. Do not dullcote, gloss coat and then dullcote again. It can cause haze in the clearcoat. Try to avoid using acrylic over oil and vice versa. This can also result in haze. For more details than you want about both topics:

Awesome, thanks for the help. FYI, I only have a C-47 and a Waco, I haven’t ordered a Horsa yet.

Beagle,

1-300 bomber & fighter sheets are ready to go:
https://www.flightdeckdecals2400.com/ne ... 6mm-decals

You will want the bomber sheet for the C47 & Waco transports. Even those will be too small for the Horsa. The stripes on the Horsa are gigantic. They are even wider than those on Stirlings. Once you receive yours, send me a pic with wing length and I will make a extra large sheet for Horsas.

Cheers,
Dan
