Have you read "The Yom Kippur War" by Abraham Rabinovich? If not, I highly recommend it. Barrel to barrel with the Syrians. I was literally sweating.

I live in Kansas, one son attended Univ of Kansas 40 miles west if here (other two went to K-State). I know KU does a lot with publishing history, so it coukd be. The Army's Command and General Staff School is 40 miles north of here, lots of history taught there, as well.

Perhaps you should tell us how you became so familiar with Golan heights.

We had an Israeli LTC in my Armor advanced course in '78 who fought in the '73 War. He talked to us on several occasions. My takeaway was "Dont worry about Saggers. Worry about the RPG teams.". The Israelis forgot about bringing infantry along to protect against RPG teams, which I had learned in reading before I even got into the Army. That was a real problem for the Israelis in '73. The LTC also warned us about our tendency to build " TOC palaces which I took to heart when I was responsible for TOCs at bn and brigade. I set em up spread out and hooked in by wire rather than connecting the track extensions. We laid low and watched opfor teams watlz through our TOCs never suspecting they'd found our HQ. Of course, the commanders wanted their arena, but I convinced them and they went along. Then, one excercise, the bde commander had us dig the M577s in to roof depth and connect the extensions again. At Ft Polk in summer, we almost died in those holes, particularly in MOPP gear. So much for me...

Spoiler alert
Don’t read what I’m about to post if you plan to watch it.

Great tanks action.
Love that Ben Gurion tank. But most of it didn’t make any sense.
God.... the ending sucks unless they planning a another season.
The intelligence guy reminded me of Mort from family guy.
It was like they were make fun of the army intelligence teams. Notice none of them could fight? Did I miss something? Were they civilians contractors?
And what up about the down pilot?
Maybe point of view of the tankers....
🤷‍♂️
