World War III Late 80s ORBATS NATO, WP & Unaligned Countries

Check out these links - everything you wanted to know about how the potential adversaries were organized:

I can't vouch for the accuracy of the data but it looks fairly spot on to me.

Looking through these, I have noticed a couple of inaccuracies so far but the author does say it is a working document.

The heavy division cavalry troop lists the HQ section as having 1 tank and 1 M3 CFV, but once the M3s were fielded, the tank was replaced by a second M3. If the troop still had M113s and tanks, the tank would be part of the HQ and it is correct.

Also, in the USAREUR listing for 3rd Bde, 2AD FWD, it does not include D Troop 2/1 Cav which was present until 1990. D Troop was organized as a 6 OH-58A and 4 AH-1F Cobra Aor Cav Troop. The remainder of the Squadron was back at Ft Hood with the remainder of 2 AD.

The links are legit, even if the titles seem a bit iffy.

Want to know what type of tanks and APCs the NVA 9th Panzer Division had? Click the second link.

Want to know which bases in the FRG had A-10s? Click the first link.

About the only recommendation I would make would be to make these documents searchable.
