Suggested new stickies
Places for folks to put there favorite techniques for model assembly, painting, terrain, scenery, and unit organization. Each is intended to be a sticky at the top of the forum, making it easy to find and search through. Those who have already posted such might cut and paste your entries. "How to PAINT," "How to build SCENERY," "How to ASSEMBLE MODELS," "Information on UNIT ORGANIZATION.".
There may be a couple more. This would be a place for GHQ to post formal instructions for the complicated vehicles needing clarification.

I like it. I also would like to see a formal stickied WIP at the top for current projects.

To be honest, I almost think there should be additional folders. You could have one for each type of tutorial. Example: Terrain Tutorial,Decal application, ARRs, Rule discussions, Explosion markers, Kit bashing, Assembly instructions Etc etc. Then within each you would have all the varieties of the category. This forum is too big and has way too much stuff in it to just be a long list of unsorted topics.

I was trying to provide a quick way to find the category and what you were specifically looking for without over-organizing it.

Gotta agree with Hoth. Many other forums would make folders and let us run topics within them. (I'm also over organized, though I prefer to call it detail oriented )

Being an engineer, its an occupational hazard. I am fine with what ever the group decides.

Re: Suggested new stickies
There is a large difference between over-organization and being detail oriented. Apples and oranges.

While I do agree with you, both are a problem with engineers. LOL

Much like your comparison, though they are two different types of fruit, they are at the end of the day simply fruit. LOL. To that end, I struggle with both, unless you are talking about my work bench. LOL

Over-organization is the natural tendency of any bureauxravpcy to self-replicate, a natural, if unfortunate process, much like we grow and age. Bureaucracies, in fact, frightenly resemble their human operators.
Detail-orientedness is good when applied properly, with perspective and judgement, very much an aspect if leadership. There is a time for your general to hover over you in a helicopter, making sure you know what you are facing, helping to get you artillery and air support, coordination chow, getting reibforcements. When he's telling you when you can pee and where the best place to do it is, however...

Re: Suggested new stickies
I like the idea of stickied reference folders. It would make finding other people's projects and ideas a lot easier to find. Many a time I have searched the forum in vain for a picture of a model, terrain, etc., I had seen in the past and wanted to look at it again because I'm working on the same one or have a similar project in mind.

Re: Suggested new stickies
I agree on Hoths suggestion - it’s a pain to try to find old posts. I have gone back several times to look at an old post giving advice etc. and this would be much easier.
