Read in a source (that I can’t recall) that in 1989, the British Army planned to stand up a third Air Defense Regiment to supplement the two mixed ground and tracked Rapier regiments in 1st Artillery Brigade , made up entirely of the three 36 vehicle Starstreak Stormer batteries.
What would happen if war came to BAOR would be that each of the three armoured divisions would get two ground Rapier batteries , a tracked Rapier battery, a Stormer Starstreak battery and the Spartan mounted divisional Javalin/Blowpipe MANPADS battery to provide divisional airspace coverage ,with the HQ battery of an assigned AD regiment acting as an air battle space task force command post for that division .
Of course, the three divisions shrunk to one and BAOR stood down in 1991 and Britain retired the Tracked Rapier , leaving one AD regiment that supplimented 1st UK Armoured Division as a pure StormerStarstreak unit .
Has anyone else encountered this plan, or did I dream this up after a bad “taco Tuesday”?

Sounds about right.
I don’t recall specifics.
