PG, can’t believe you want to see the CoC in a large war, get beat and then dismantled.
Shocking, disappointing. It is hard for me to comprehend this.
Gosh.

Great pics of your tank brigade Mark! Keep them coming! Is that camo pattern from another country and you're just applying it to a Soviet unit, or did you just develop it on your own? It looks really cool!

I have more than enough tanks for my gaming purposes. But a friend gifted me an ammo can full of Soviet kit and plain green bores me to tears. So my back story is this...

The war is not, as promised, over by Christmas. A new regiment is being raised to be sent to a quiet sector. The Soviets have learned the value of camo on the defense. Since this unit will be tasked with just holding the line they're getting camo.

The scheme is fictional and just meant to look cool. Each company gets a different pattern/look just for funsies. The unit will end up being a several hundred vehicles once I'm all done....

Real life has pulled me away from the painting table for a while, but a small GHQ order and I got back tonight. Having finished a company of tanks it is time for something different: the signal company. I still need to find/make/order a generator trailer but the rest of the company is present and now in the motor pool.

General info: three tanks per platoon, three platoons per company, one company command tank (total-31tanks). Three companies per standard tank battalion. In the 70s, the tank battalion of the motorized rifle regiment had thirteen tanks per company, four tanks per platoon, three platoons per company, one command tank per company (total-40 tanks). In all cases, one battalion command tank. The Russians have since returned to the 31-tank battalion for both tank and motorized rifle regiments.

There have been independent tank battalions with as many as five tank battalions intended as reinforcing units.

The advantage of 1/285: Paint covers a multitude of sins. I'm using German WW2 motorcycles, I'll just paint them green. Could not find anyone who makes anything else.

Masters of Military on Shapeways. I am not near my workbook right now but I believe I have forty-two currently. They come in packs of six.

I haven't touched a brush in months, and am still a tad disorganized from the move. So just to get back in the swing, I'll knock out some trucks. You always need more trucks...
