You're churning them out!

Who are they going to be going up against?

Who ya got?

This is almost more of a modeling project for fun. I have probably a tank regiment and an infantry regiment already in plain green. And I have a couple battalions of M1s, a couple battalions of M60s and maybe 2 or 3 companies of US infantry.

But I may need to build a fun and interesting fictional enemy for them.

Who in the Balkans/Med has fun kit? Greece? Turkey?

Yes

In the mid-late 80's most of the secondary NATO forces were running M113s and either M48s or Leopard 1s. So there's nothing massively interesting there. Although you could raise some generic NATO forces with that equipment which could see use across almost all of NATO with only a few small changes?

Yeah, poking around there aren't any reall cool options.

Maybe time to do an Imagi-Nation? A breakaway Kyrgzstan that gets French kit lend lease?

That'd be cool! If you want to push further east, maybe a separatist Georgia? You could still use French lend-lease kit on the basis that NATO would be quick to try and mobilise support for a nation on the borders of a militant USSR. You could use older French kit (AMX-13 and AMX-VCI) to show France clearing their reserve-stocks for a quick buck  You'd also have Turkey on the southern border, so you could put together a small Turkish force to use alongside the new Separatist Georgian State to bolster the border against the USSR.

Too close to Russia backs her into a corner and forces Russia to do something. Plenty of Balkan regionals to resurrect, lots of hard cases and hard feelings going rogue. Old Islamic/Christian enmity not so far beneath the surface.

Looking good!

If you want to mix it up a bit, I'd probably either not camouflage the GAZ-66 tarps, or do them an entirely different shade of green. It's not often you see militaries with tarps or canvas that matches the camo being applied to vehicles.

Mark, that's some great looking artillery! I really dig those sheets with the spaces for the vehicles. I'm really thinking I may need to do something similar. Looks really cool and would help keep all my garbage organized!

@Splod Great point, thanks. May go back and give them a quick coat of drab something or other.

@Redleg If you want, PM me and I can send you my Powerpoint doc. I like to be well organized, so all my stuff goes in nice magnet lined boxes with labels on the outside. I hate to say it, but part of why I do that is so when I go (hopefully decades from now) the estate will know what the f**k all this stuff is! I get one or two calls a year from widows/heirs wondering how to unload collections and the 1st problem is nothing is labeled so they have no idea what they are looking at. A pic of my shelves:

To be clear, that is a photo of my *entire* collection. Only about 5% is microarmor. Besides WW2 and Cold War, I have armies for the following periods/genres:

28mm Lord of the Rings
28mm Border Reivers
28mm Sci Fi / Starship troopers
15mm Vietnam
15mm WW2
15mm Sci Fi
15mm Old West
15mm Napoleonics
15mm Vikings & Saxons
15mm Fantasy
15mm American Civil War
15mm Martian Empires (VSF)
6mm Zulu Wars
6mm Seven Years War
6mm Napoleonics
6mm SciFi
6mm American Civil War
1/6000 World War I Naval
1/2400 Age of Sail Naval

For the terminally curious here is an inventory I did during lockdown:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Each box you see there is 12x18". Labeled with scale/period and army (so. for example, 15mm World War II: Germany)
