Re: New imagiNation arm race
OMG.
Look at the build up. PRNW is building the naval assault capability. I wonder who they are going after? ROD is too. Uhmmmmm, wonder if they are planning an attack together. Maybe nearby.... north.... maybe.
Kingdom of Ha'hai, no arms build up, but improve capability and range, of: missiles, aircraft and air wings.
GS and NC. NC may wish to build their land forces in the event PRNW and/or ROD get frisky.
Of course the CoC is trying to keep up, But being too large unable to keep up in proportion to these other Nations. We are unable to acquire more B-70, B-52, B-1B, and B-2. The cost is prohibitive. We have acquired hundreds of M47 to be upgraded to the M47 E2 (105mm L-7 rifled gun).
.
Nashorn, thank you for the alert to the build up so we have the opportunity to respond. You sir have helped the Commonwealth prepare to defend ourselves from some aggressive wolvies around the globe.

Re: New imagiNation arm race
The only thing Im doing with the NC army, is improving their overall tactics and line formations using a field manual I found online, they will be participating in a training excersice with the Outboard Islands Land Forces on the weekend.
This excersice will allow the NCAF to figure out the two main problems. and make the necessary changes to fix that.
1. How to keep your Command structure alive and safe.
2. How to best fight while outnumbered.

The RPNW is building up both land and Naval forces. The RPNW is going to use her amphibious assault ships as either aircraft carrier with small assault forces, or light air wings and heavy on assault forces. Proposed force size is to have 3 to 4 wasp class and 3 to 4 america class. The latter to be configured in the original air heavy config with no well deck.

Mech, just an observation: I think your first main problem is indeed one of your main problems. You are too concerned with keeping your command structure alive and safe (and apparently comfortable). You don’t want your command structure to be vulnerable, and ever life is precious, but you are fixated on keeping your leaders away from danger. I would submit that the dangerous areas are exactly where your leaders need to be. Commanders should be with the main effort. They should be in the field. They can’t inspire their troops by video conference.
This has already been called out many times. NCAF needs a significant cultural change. Until that happens, all of your reforms are just lip service.

We each have our style, our view. Cannot changing thinking unless that person wants to change.

If you think that, okay…..
Arms race….
The ROD build up... from covert intelligence operations. Observations and report.
This week the Army is fielding the new M109A7 howitzer to active duty artillery units. The first battalions to receive the new system are the cannon battalions of the 1st Mech Division’s DIVARTY (1/16 FA, 1/34 FA, and 2/34 FA). The crews are undergoing new equipment training with the new howitzers, though transition from M109A6 to M109A7 is not expected to be very troublesome. Once the 1st Mech Division has received their 54 howitzers, new M109A7s will be fielded with the 2nd and 7th Armored Brigades in Mahishmati and Germany respectively (1/18 FA in Mahishmati and 1/10 FA in Schweinfurt, Germany).
M109A6 howitzers that are being turned in will undergo a short refurbishment, and then be placed in prepositioned stocks.

The CoC intelligence machine is good! Every time we think we know their sources, agents, and methods, they change it up on us! A good reminder that intel gathering is just as important as counter-intel!

Chris, when you upgrade your M47s, it isn't just the gun. You also need new fire control, diesel engine, and armored back deck. Would be nice if somebody could print 105 and 120mm gun barrels...

Re: New imagiNation arm race
For all that work, we will develop a new hull, then we will need a new turret..... bigger, faster, stronger... Bionic Tank, the ABRAMS, or K-2!!

You could go with the Iranian TIAM for your M47s:

CavDog,
Guess that Moroccodom doesn’t need any of those TIAM M-47 since they have over 200 Abrams for their Army, plus the Commonwealth military. May transfer those down to Mali, Guinea, Mauritania, Niger.
May need to get a pack or two.
