Army/Navy College Game Day vehicle display

Watched some of the ESPN College Gameday coverage, and on the right side of the screen,
behind Kirk Herbstreit, was a vehicle sporting a gun, mounted on a V shaped turret, with a
overhang, (counterweight?), on the back side, also had smoke grenade launchers. Couldn't
really see the hull though, but it appeared to be a tall vehicle, so might have been tires versus
tracks. Anyone know what this vehicle is? Thought it might be some variant of the Stryker,
but I don't see any comparisons to the models I know about. Thanks for the help.

Is this the vehicle you are referencing?
The Defender. This picture might be from game in 2019.

That must be the new Stryker AD variant that the 2nd ACR just fielded in Europe .

Sorry Chris & Roger,
Isn't the vehicle in question, this one has only 1 gun barrel, and looks somewhat like a M36 Jackson tank destroyer turret.
I've been able to take a cropped picture from the telecast, but don't know how to attach here.
If anyone would like to see it, they can email me at cinctim@comcast.net and I can send in a normal email message

Chris nailed it, Stryker Dragoon.

Sorry, don't think it's a Dragoon. That turret is more 'rounded' on the top, and what this one was more of a
trapezoidal shape, and upside down. I sent a screen shot of the telecast picture, such as it was, to Chris,
and while the Dragoon has just a single barrel, the turret body doesn't look like the picture at all.
Hopefully he'll be able to determine what it might be...maybe something experimental?

Any chance this is our mystery vehicle?

Geez. We used to be concerned about the height profile of vehicles. Doesn't anybody think about that anymore? And putting the turret that far back means exposing more of the vehicle to get the shot angle. There is so much wrong with this vehicle! Not to mention the WHEELS.

The picture above of the Sampson is similar to the picture that I have seen.
I am sure having a turret that high with "an extremely well protected hull" is critical for survival. Is the 30mm supposed to be able to penetrate Stag 5 armor? Is this supposed to go into a T-14 and T-15 after the ADS (trophy, iron dome)?

Chris, that "extremely well-protected hull" is on WHEELS! It CAN'T be THAT well-protected or the whole pile of junk would explosively collapse the tires and make it a g**da*ned SLED. And that would also negate all the so-called advantages of a wheeled vehicle, like air-transport. These 8-wheeled cobbled-together piles of junk are group coffins without any systems approach to building a coherent, competent armored fighting vehicle. It's a Winnebago with a gun on top.

These systems are only practical while fighting backwater skirmishes like we've insisted on waging in lieu of effective diplomacy. Against real adversaries, they will not last.

I agree with Vergeltungswaffe, from the 'live' pictures of the telecast, it has the correct angles for the turret,
although it's missing the flange/counterweight on the rear of the turret, that I saw, but that could have been
added after this picture evidence. I do agree with Panzergator, that it is an awfully tall vehicle/target,

My question is how is it any better than the Dragoon? Both have 30mm on Stryker hull?

Both are outrageously high-profile vehicles. Can they fit in C17!

From online info, the M1296 Stryker Dragoon stands at approx. 8' 8" / 2.77m
and weighs around 18.5 tons, 2 Crew, w/ 9 Infantry. However, I can't find any
specifications on the Sampson, but as the turret is taller, and automatic, could
be almost 10' tall and maybe up to 20 tons, but that's just my guess.
