Australian Boxers?

Post by jwbolen »

Are they going to look like the ones GHQ has now or have the Aussies made external changes?

"N597 Boxer IFV" would be what the Australians have been ordering, GTK Boxer with the 30 mm Lance turret. No one other than Australia is using them in that configuration. As far as the model goes, the turret looks nice, while the lower part, especially the side-armour/stowage bins is a bit off. It looks like they used N549 or a pre-production model as a basis for their model.

As far as the other roles are concerned, that Australia has ordered, GHQ has yet to release models. The other modules, command & control, ambulances, recovery etc... all look different than what GHQ is currently offering.

"N549 Boxer APC" would be a first-patch or pre-production Boxer armoured personnel carrier, used by the German army. As of 2024, no one will be using that version anymore, since both Germany and Netherland will have upgraded their vehicles to A2, which looks slightly different (different remote weapon station, different armour, hatches and additional side storage bins).
