Micro Squad - 7.5 Machine Gun Area Fire

Post by saxophone »

Some questions on Machine Gun Area Fire, rule 7.5.

1. Unarmored units entering the beaten zone are subject to attack by the stand producing the beaten zone. Is this is standard attack?

2. Unarmored stands not already suppressed are automatically suppressed. Does this auto-suppression occur before resolving the attack? Thus, they become Disorganized on an "(S)" result?

1. This is not a standard attack. The MMG sacrifices its opportunity to perform a standard attack by generating the beaten zone. So, the MMG does not attack any moving infantry stand entering the beaten zone on the +1 column (4 attack - 3 defense). The infantry stand is simply suppressed. Any non-moving infantry stand in the beaten zone is also suppressed. The same goes for any soft skin vehicles.
2. Units that are already suppressed suffer no additional results. They remain suppressed.
3. Moving units suppressed in the beaten zone may still suffer opportunity fire attacks by other enemy stands.
