Hey GHQ, are we going for a mass release at the end of the cycle? You're running out of months before the 2023-2024 period kicks in!

regarding the FH-70 howitzers:

we used to get 2 towed and 2 unlimbered versions of an artillery piece, PLUS 2 tow vehicles, with each artillery pack. Now it's just 3 artillery pieces, without any tractors.

I was really waiting and hoping for the FH-70. Couldn't you at least pack 4 of them into a blister, for a whole section? I don't think anyone used them grouped into 3's...

That saind, $13,99 isn't worth it. That's 100% mark-up if you consider what's in a blister, compared to old towed artillery sets. I think at those prices I'll finally make my peace with GHQ and move on to 3D prints.

They are just doing what all American companies have been doing over the last decade. First was the ice cream manufacturers going from a half gallon (2qt) container down to 1.44 qt container and having a price increase. Next came the frozen steak meat companies going from 16 oz packages to 14 oz packages and taking a price increase. The detergent manufacturers going from 96 oz bottles to 92 oz bottles and raising prices. Look around at all of your consumer products and you see examples of this everywhere. Seems American companies just love to use the double whammy on their customers. I am sure they hope the customer only sees the price change not the quantity change.

It's a way to deal with rising costs.
I don't believe for a second that GHQ has huge profit margins- if the industry was that profitable there'd be more interest. Instead, the manufacturing pool has been shrinking.

Note there are some industries where this does not happen: Home prices have gone up, but the square footage of new construction homes keeps increasing!
And that IS a very profitable industry with lots of players!

Of course, sizes have not shrunk in the footwear industry. Count your blessings!

Well, I remember paying $3.95 for a pack of five tanks in 1978...

I think it's being a bit harsh with regards to the cannons. The FH-70 is a BIG piece, and you'll find that most of the bigger pieces like them are either in 2's, 3's or similar.

21cm Morser m.18 - 2 guns only
17cm K 18 - 2 guns only
M1 240mm - 3 guns only
155mm long Tom -4 guns only
FH-77 - 2 deployed, 2 towed/self propelled (useful because they can self deploy without a truck)

I mean most arty packs sure you might get six models, but really only four of them (the support vehicle and the firing gun) are usually used. The towed guns are nice, but I'll take the three firing guns considering the historical examples.

I just hope we see the other new releases sooner rather than the long wait we had between the first and second listings :)

This page is from the Fall 1973 issue of 'Vivandiere' that I found somewhere online awhile back. It looks like back then there wasn't one fixed price for a pack but three.

<edit> I assume that they were packs of 5 back then.

All that $4,987.05 goes right to my bank account.
So I tell my wife, see how much I saved buying 10 packs, $49,870.50.
Who needs to work anymore.

Three months left GHQ... still got four full release cycles to do before the end of June! :|

If it isn't going to happen it'd be nice to get a warn-out so we can plan accordingly. I know I personally am waiting for a number of items in the coming batches to purchase this year.
