Those German tanks/APCs look great. Really think the flag on the vehicles make them pop!

Thanks again guys! Here's a bit more stuff - German and Hungarian.

The latest German micro from the painting table.

Overview

Panzer IIL Luchs

It was only(?) the 4th and 9th Panzer Divisions that had full units of this recce vehicle. One company each of 29 vehicles (1 in the CHQ plus 4 platoons of 7). So I've gone for 1 full platoon for now.

21st Panzer Division - Armoured Panzer Grenadier Support Company
I need a couple of UNIC P107 halftracks for the CHQ.

2cm FlaK38 auf leSPW107(f)

Bergepanther + quad 2cm for the 653rd Heavy Panzerjaeger (BHQ?)
Plus a towed 88 to replace one that went missing - to complete a unit of 6.

PaK 40s for my 5th and 6th Panzer Grenadier Battalions.

From the other week, when the GHQ website was down, a couple of Hungarian units.

The models (I think) are all H&R - although the PaK and AA halftracks might date back to before Armstrong Miniatures became part of the H&R range.
Paints are Vallejo, Games Workshop, and Humbrol.
Decals are by Flight Deck Decals, I-94, and Dan's Decals - the latter for the Hungarian national markings and are actually from a sheet of 1/600th aircraft markings.

Thank you, here's the next thing off the painting bench.

The first unit of my Polish army. It's probably going to evolve slowly (a unit or two at a time).

PF508 Radio Car
The antenna is a small piece of brass rod. Ideally I could have done with a piece of tubing of the same diameter and a thinner piece of rod inside as the aerial was telescopic - but that's what I had to hand.

Thanks Chris - I assume that's an auto-correct of 'tankettes'

Cheers! Redleg.

It's the start of a slippery slope. I've already got an Polish Armoured Train and a Company of VIckers E (Polish Mod) to do. Well I thought I had a company's worth. Turns out I ordered some 7TPs as well. So I need to order a few more of both (some single turreted; some twin turreted).

I've had a few Mack EXBX tank transporters from H&R sitting in my 'to paint' pile for some time now. I bought them as an impulse buy as they don't fit into my late war British army. I had the option to paint them up as either BEF or desert vehicles. I chose the former. Paints by Vallejo, Games Workshop, and Humbrol.

Cool tank transporters, Gazza! Just curious, do you ever have an opportunity to use tank transporters in a game? I still want some either way!

Thank you.

Not yet, but I can think of 3 opportunities:
  1. Recovery of disabled vehicles in a multi-game campaign.
  2. Recovery of disabled vehicles in a points-based game. You don't lose as many points for recovered vehicles.
  3. The capture and recovery of a new enemy vehicle.
I still want some either way!
It's the start of a slippery slope. Once you've got your recovery vehicles, bridging equipment etc. what's next medical units? field kitchens? The list is almost endless :D

It's been quite some time since I posted an update of this project. It's a WWII US Airborne Battalion for a friend. The figures are by Adler Miniatures; the metal bases are by Precision Wargames Supplies; and the paints are my usual combination of Vallejo, Games Workshop, and Humbrol. These photos were taken just before I started on their final coat of matt varnish.
