foxbat's stuff. last update 06/11//2025 BB-61 USS Iowa

Post by foxbat »

I think it will be more in line with what's taking place on these boards if I open a single topic to post my pictures. I'll update this topic from now on with whatever new GHQ models I have painted, and I'll start with links to various topics I have opened previously so that everything can be accessed from here.

HMS Warspite

Solomons stuff

Denmark Strait AAR

New stuff starts in the next post.

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen! Here are a few more pics, 2 ships of the Pacific War. Let's start with battlecruiser HMS Repulse

Paintscheme is deceptively simple... I can't guarantee I'm correct, i couldn't find a good topdopwn view of it.

And now here come IJN Mogami. I must say I love IJN heavy cruisers, what beautiful and racy ships they were! :D

Those are really great looking ships you have there, Foxbat! I also like the look of Japanese WWII cruisers.

Thanks, gentlemen. I have to pay tribute, though, to the quality of the sculpts and castings : they are so crisp that even at this small scale, you can easily discern where to apply paint. I've bought minis from various manufacturers over the years, and really, I must say, GHQ is top. :D

Foxbat - Great work here. I'm looking forward to more. And I too am a fan of the Japanese cruisers.

Thanks for your comments, gentlemen. I now have an AAR to post, centered on the October 1942 battle of Cape Esperance. Though it had already been sunk by a S class US submarine, I included IJN Kako for game balance. A few pics first :

And the game report itself. Rules were Sam Mustafa's NIMITZ.

That's a fantastic AAR, Foxbat! I want to play now too! Looks like a great game, and 2 hours is a pretty awesome timeframe for a game like that!
