Panzergator's place. I'm a collector, not a gamer, focussed primarily on US forces, maybe NATO allies combat unit organization. Mostly H and J series TOE, some on earlier stuff, on occasion back to the beginning of US tank units.

If I can still paint, there will be pictures.

If you have questions, I will try to answer, but I don't know much about stuff after 1st Gulf.

MY GOD, WHAT AN ATROCIOUS MISNOMER -STRYKER MGS TANK! You are deliberately insulting. And the Stryker MGS met its so predictable fate - it is being withdrawn from service. Not much to be discussed, plenty to be disgusted about. GOOD RIDDANCE!

You know panzer, I use to think that about all the Stryker models. Did not like them at all. However, I have since warmed up to them. Not sure why, but even the MGS vehicle looks good to me. I have bunch of them in my collection. I know they did not work, but my collection can sometimes resemble the island of misfit toys. Lol. If I am being honest, I kind of love all the wheeled gun systems from across the world. Probably will buy a small unit of each from every nation that builds them.

They have their place but I agree it is not in a tank park lol.
Excellent road based infantry support system.
Also good for "Other Than War" operations when you do not want to be seen as having small feet!

Looking forward to seeing more of the Panzer Nation collection.

Used properly, they have their place. The air mobility requirement creates issues which need not be considered by operators of VBCI, Boxer, and Eitan. I have not operated it, but it seems too long and not wide enough to provide decent stability and maneuver cross-country. Almost any turret looks top-heavy, and cross-country, if it looks top-heavy, it almost certainly is. I have trouble imagining having to execute a three-point turn quickly enough to get out of danger. I do not have confidence in its cross-country performance. The 105mm was inappropriate for its supposed mission. It can't carry enough armor.

I never served in a Stryker unit, but I was near them for a time. I was always surprised at how fast they could move and how relatively quiet they were. If you weren't paying attention they could drop an infantry battalion in your backyard without you even noticing!

Interesting work. It works... Why not use the original turret, shorten the gun to convert it to the 165mm, and use the hoist from the M60 CEV on the M1 turret? I don't know if the turret rings are actually compatible, although an adapter is certainly possible.
