The new German helo is the Tiger (Tigre). It is available from Ros-Heroics in two versions, the UHT (GMA402) and the HAP (FMA402). The UHT is the German attack-helo variant.

The Mongoose (A-129 Mangusta) is an Italian attack helicopter. It is also available from Ros-Heroics (ITMA401).

All models are 1/300 and acceptable (though not to GHQ standards), with the A-129 Mangusta being the best of the three in my opinion. I know of no other supplier of these models in micro-scale.

There is a Japanese toy manufacturer that makes these in something close to 1/285, I've seen them in a local model shop. There is no scale marking on the package but visual inspection of the contents makes me think its at least smaller than 1/144. They don't sell micro armor there so there was no way for me to compare sizes. I may try pick one up to see how far off it is. If I do I'll post some pictures and comments here.

Of the models out there made by another company, (the UHT (GMA402) and the HAP (FMA402) ) I am unable to distinguish between the two models, except the under nose gun on the HAP and perhaps a small blob of metal that I think is rotor mast sighting system on the UHT; so maybe I am missing something.... I picked up several of each over the summer at Historicon in Lancaster, PA. Also picked up Rooivalk, which is very robust. There are only about 18 of these deployed, and I do not have these 3:1 over the actual South African deployment. I only have five.

I will be using them for the first time this weekend at The Southeastern Regional Modern Micro Armor Championships in Gainesville, FL.

Speaking of Italians, has anyone come up with a good scratch build for the C-1 tank for Italy? My ideas are use Scotia chanllenger turrets (snip off the smoke launchers from the front of turret) and use a scotia M1 hull or someone elses' hull. Perhaps use some netting over the vehicle. Another option is us an old(very old) M1 from someone's (i do not know who it is, have about 15 or 20) turret and use that same hull, and put some net over the turret.

How about the Centauro? I use LAV hull and cinc F4 turret from french VBA 90 with the long barrel and snip of the very end of the barrel. This was my idea for the LAV-90 or 105 at one point was being discussed. Any other ideas?

Also, since we are on it, any idea on Italy's 6616 and 6614?
