I have found the following description of S class destroyers in the RN. This may help with determining how to model Tenedos. She is one of those described as "destined for the Far East."
"At least Stronghold, Sturdy and Thracian had been fitted for minelaying before the war, and possibly all those destined for the Far East. These ships carried two 4 inch guns. Skate and Scimitar were used for minesweeping trials during the first winter of the war and were modified accordingly. Shikari, Sabre, Saladin, Sardonyx and Scimitar were converted to ASW escorts late in 1940, equipped for 14 charge pattern DC arrangements. Both after guns and the torpedo tubes were landed, one 12pdr and two quadruple .5 inch machine guns added. Radar Type 286 and later 291 was added, but only Shikari received Type 271, at the cost of the 12pdr and some of the ASW equipment. Four single 20mm mountings eventually supplanted the .5 inch equipments. Far East boats remained largely unaltered, as did Sturdy."

In addition, I have found the following description of HMAS Vampire's armament:

(original)
4 x 4-inch guns
1 x 2-pounder gun
1 x Vickers .303 gun
4 x Lewis .303 guns
6 x 21-inch torpedo tubes (triple mount)
50 depth charges
(additions)
1 x 12-pounder gun embarked in Alexandria in April 1941
2 x 2-pounder guns embarked in Singapore on 5 January 1942

Does anyone out there have any information on the 1960s era Italian Corvettes Aquila F542, Albatros F543, Alcione F544 and Airone F545? If you've got the stats for size, weapons etc. great if you can point me to an online source even better. Thanks!

Paul - beautiful job on those Liberty ships! Perfect camoflage pattern on them. It's scary to think how much effort we are willing to put into even merchant ships!

...and no problem on those pictures - I've been so busy with work that I haven't made any progress on them.

Did go to Seattle on business last week though and fell in love with the store American Eagles Hobbies - they have a HUUUUUGE selection of GHQ - it had everything they sell in quantity. I have never seen a store sell more than a small amount of GHQ so that was simply amazing. Makes me want to move there.

JB,

Great job on those ships! Very interesting bases too, what did you use to make them? The ocean looks like it is semi-translucent. Did you have to paint it blue or did it come that way?

Thank you Chris,I wish I could do as good as you do on your ships!
The bases are done with a new product I found at the hobby shop (Yes! We have a wonderful hobby shop here that does cutting edge stuff in our hobby).
The product is from Vallejo, and its called water effects. It comes in clear,Pacific,Atlantic, and Medditerrenian Blue.
I'm really just experimenting with it right now. The stuff is translucent blue. You get a really nice depth effect, if you paint your base blue then paint lighter blue stripes, and white for the wake.

Good Lord JB - you're going to have to go into business with those! If you posted those anywhere else they would probably assume you were in 1/700 scale.

I was just logging in and saw that the British E Class destroyers are officially out. I am VERY EXCITED about this model. Of course, I'm excited about any new models from GHQ. But when we get our tax return back, these puppies are going to be joining my ever expanding fleet.

Now back to lobbying for more County class cruisers!
