if you mean the sheet styrene for making buildings etc then Hobbyco in the Mid City centre has a good selection of Evergreen sheets, squares and rods
www.hobbyco.com.au (although I can't get it to work at the moment)
also, Frontline in Newcastle has a good selection and is a good mail order service

there is also an interesting hobby shop over in Bankstown, I will be dropping in there on Mon/Tues so if you want me to check as well let me know as I believe that I have seen some styrene sheets there before.

any info would be good, i was thinking of using big sheets of the higher density stuff for terrain boards, sort of like the commercial war hammer stuff. The plan was to make semi modular ones I could butt together to make a bigger area, the foam could be mounted on thin MDF and you could cut streams and wadis etc in to it. Thats the plan anyway finding the big sheets that dont crumble is the hard part- apparently woodland scenics make sheets that are perfect

I have seen WS stuff at Hobbyco, as in a fair amount of it and I think that I did see sheets as well. It might be best if you gave them a call, if it's not in the seperate modelling section I do know that they had it next to the railroad modelling stuff.
Let me know what you find and there is always the possibility of the Bankstown Hobby store as well.

i think i may have misunderstood you - hobbyco do not have the thicker foam that could be used to make terrain boards - I thought you meant sheet styrene.
Dow (i think) make the "Blue Board" overseas and a few years ago I did some websearches and ending up callign their local subsidiary who also carried it. IIRC they said the best way to get it was via their factory site somewhere in western sydney. Sorry I don't have any more but if you start a google search for Blue Board / Dow you should be able to track it down.
good luck and if successful please share your source.

yeah, that's the way I read it as well.
Silly suggestion, but why not check with the guys at the local GW store or send them an email? They would know the source of their foam boards etc.

FWIW
just checked with the guys at Punchbowl Hobby Centre, they have polystyrene packing which they sell to people for making scenery. Saw some, but it depends on what type of scenery you have in mind.
Their address is 545 chapel road bankstown 97095082

Possibilities for polystyrene sheets

Hi guys,
Over the years I have tried many styles of terrain. To get polystyrene sheets they usually come in 2400x1200 sheets but if you can preplan you can get them premade to size the more you get the cheaper it is as the maunfacturer will have to set up a jig for your order but they are still are hell of a lot cheaper than any hobby products, if i had a supplier in the town I am in and was shifting all the time i may not have gone down the terrianmaker route.
Anyway where to get these magical sheets from they come in two densities normal bubble polystyrene and high density ranging in 5mm increments from 10mm to 100mm thick....have a look in the Building Insulation Manufacturers section of the phone book any company manufacturing this should be able to help you. From memory I think our main NZ supplier Forman Insulation is also an Aussie company so they would be first on my hit list just remember when talking to the sales rep you will need the dimensions and quantity of what you want. As for mounting on MDF etc if you go for 20mm as a base thickness its not necessary.
Cheers Rex

clark rubber has a range of sheets- not the high density stuff but they look good enough to begin with plus they are pretty cheap
