NP/SP&S Z-8 Conversions

A while ago, I purchased the GHQ Z-8 conversion to fit on a Con-Cor/Rivarossi Challenger chassis. Since then, I have decided to lay Atlas C55 track, and the flanges on the Con-Cor Challenger are too deep. Also, Athearn has produced a better drive with sound.

My questions
  • Can the Z-8 conversion be adapted to fit an Athearn chassis?
    Would our friends at GHQ consider providing a PDF set of instructions to make such a conversion happen?
