I noticed that some are using "wallpapers" when they scratch build houses and such. Is there a website with these wallpapers or do y'all make them for yourselves?

There's a couple of places to get Paper Terrain from.
There's Ian H's website at:
http://www.iandrea.co.uk/wargames/6mm/b ... dings.html
as well as a really good selection of buildings, roads etc at a French WW2 miniatures site at:
http://perso.orange.fr/midgard/ww2/
That should get you started.

paper buildings
I used the gear keig buildings once, its a .PDF and for a bigger scale but a friend reduced the printing size until they were on scale.
these are normandy buildins for an alternate earth game (WWII with mechas) but are good for real historic gaming.
