I used to use 15mms for a few years,loved the minis,the detail,but like you mentioned the scale was not friendly to the overall presentation,no matter the rule system. Now I'm back to the micro Armour. Large battles,small areas,wonderful minis,and of course presentation. I use a 1"=100m for even 1 to 1 scale,and this still doesnt give the "parking lot" look. Maybe those Flames of warriors will check into micro armour. After all its their minis not their game that is eating up their maneuver room(and money)...

I always have had good response to the US office in washington state <US> as for the 1500 points being done when you achieved that point...I build a variety of armies out of that...either panzer...grendadier or even Luftwaffe...I do agree tho nothing beats micro armor

I tried to get up to Red Deer and was hoping to do so as well as I've been wanting to play the GHQ ruels to get a handle of how the system works. But unfortunately, the in laws were in town for the weekend.

Let me know when it is ahead of time and I will try to get there.

Coming from the other end, I'm interested to try to get down to Red Deer. (Though I"m pretty rusty, haven't played Micro-armour for a couple years now...)

Unfortunatly I work for Blockbuster, so my week-ends are pretty tight. But with some warning (2-3 weeks), I might be able to do something.

Grant: Sorry to hear things didn't shake out. My own attempt to teach a wargaming course via the public school system just tanked (they were going to charge $115 for 3 nights of gaming--I wouldn't pay that to hang out with me).

Vagabond Elf: The www.edmontonwargamegroup.com occasionally hauls out the micro armour (although we haven't yet tried the GHQ rules). We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month and have some WW2 stuff going on October 3 if you're in town.

Thanks for the info. That particular day is my 2nd wedding anniversary - so you can see why I'm not coming - but Tuesday in general is in fact my wargaming nght (because I usually open), so I'll see if I can make it down in a week or two just to check it out.
