Hi Everyone
Havent had the time of late to get into Micro full swing but with all my work and exams out of the way im about to hit Micro head on.
The question is what to buy decisions decisions, i have in mind at the moment:
Germany
Russia
British
Using GHQ Rules 1:5 scale
These are the three nationalities that appeal the most, Looking at 2 x Battalion size or somewhere around there to start with. So that it will require a nice order of GHQ product. If it should happen to be suggested a nice list with all aspects such as tanks, infantry, arty posted i would be muchly appreciated.
Era around late 42 to mid 43, and probably one Nation to start with (See how the budget fares)
Any assistance from the forum members would be greatly appreciated.
Decisions what to purchase

Well lets see, try to pick a battle or Division
Well there is a couple that jump to mind:
7th Armoured Division (Aka Desert Rats)
Africa Corps
Actually this would make a good start.....any way also probably for Eastern Front
Tank battles after Stalingrad one i can think of is the Dniper River any other suggestions?
Maybe the African front would be a good area, as i have the desert and Sicily and then onto Italy, some good posibilities. Now if i can work out how to paint Desert Colours

Personally I suggest going, initially at least, Germans v Russians on the eastern front, with a focusing period probably around 42 or so. This gives you a nice selection of units, a good selection of battles (with either side having the upper hand) and opportunites to branch out to other periods. Admittedly, russian forces can't be used elsewhere, but the germans of 42-43 can be easily transposed into normandy 44 or italy/Sicily in 43. As an added bonus, the Russians don't have the breadth of equipment that other armies have, which simplifies purchasing and planning considerably.

1942 Eastern Front would satisfy your requirements. The Russians were using lend lease in addition to domestic production. Examples: Matilda, Valentine, Stuart, Lee.
Most of the Panzers were in DAK colors anyway, and could be used in either Russia or Africa.
A nice scenario would be the relief of Stalingrad by the 503 Tiger battalion. Never happened, but was within the realm of possibility.
