US Airborne

Post by vicvolta »

Still, no US airborne infantry from GHQ... What ya'll think, is it ok to use the standard infantry units as airborne? As long as I paint them as airborne?

The one detail that will show up in this scale is that standard US infantry wore greaves. These came up to mid calves and sometimes almost all the way to the knees. THat will show up. Airborne wore boots and had the trousers bloused just above the ankles.

Even if you paint them as airborne, a detailed eye will pick this up.

The 07 release schedule should be close. If I remember correctly GHQ released the 06 releases in 2nd week of Deceber of 05. So we can keep our fingers crossed.
I pray for Peace on Earth Good will toward men. Till then one round HE fire for Effect!

Catch your drift. But is'nt it possible to paint the greaves brownish, same as the "shoes" so they together appear as a boot?

NO! A coat of paint is not sufficient. Do not give in to the dark side. Do not compromise. We need American paras! Real ones. If we pretend with paint, we'll be settling and we'll never see the real deal.

Now my esteemed collegue Armypainter makes a valid point. After all, these are very tiny miniatures. But if we really feel that way wouldn't we all be buying Skytrex and saving a Maus-load of dead presidents? You bet we would.

Nope. We are here because we are discriminating, and exacting, and we notice of the Tiger I has the rubber wheels or the steel wheels, or if the Sherman has the round hatch or the butterfly hatch.

Yes, we are a strange breed. But we are what we are, and we want American Paras!

Is it gone? Have you really killed the SQL Error squirrel?!?
(Squirrel = bigger than a bug, doesn't have venom, but is still a pest!)

No more double, triple, quadruple posts? No more "oh no, you can't edit THAT!" messages.

Sing it with me, brothers: Ding, dong the squirrel is dead!

Not so fast, I've been trying all day to post my TOW Leader photo but am still getting the "squirrel" error.

Let's see If I can get through the squrrel. I'd like to see WW2 American paratroopers produced. A company size Combat Command would be great. Might make me interested in WW2 again.
