Behold, we now have trans-continental SPAM-zapping capacity! A UKian and a Canuckian, both renowned as gentlemen of the first order!

We are indeed in capable hands as we move forward on this SPAM hunt.

But ... if I may be so bold to ask, Thomas .... um ... just curious, but ... well ... guys and gals?

Do you know something we don't know?

..and we can all enjoy the forum without this annoyance ..

In my hobby, gaming and model building experience -- the latter are somewhat rare. Nonetheless, they do exist; I know of at least two who are regular participants on one of the ship modeling message boards.

I'm not sure why there aren't more of both genders involved in any hobby activity -- actually, any activity at all -- that are perceived as being the domain of a particular gender. That may be partly due to our upbringings -- men worked, women cooked, etc. Mom did 99.9% of the cooking in our home -- but when Dad cooked, he really did it well. On the flip side, Dad did most of the home maintenance work -- but Mom could paint the sashes on our windows without having to mask them first!

Our kids haven't seen (and won't see) too many "gender-specific" roles; not to brag, but I'm a heck of a cook, and I do most of the laundry (don't iron, though... I can, but I just don't like doing it!) At the same time, my wife has one heck of a business mind, and takes care of most of the financial and tax work done here.

And at one time, my daughter loved to wargame with Dad; I'm not sure she fully grasped the tactics of WW I naval warfare, but she sure did enjoy rolling the dice, and took a special glee in removing some of Dad's ships from his battle line!... Now she's a teenager, and she's interested in many other things. But maybe someday... Who knows!? Maybe there will be another lady joining our ranks!

I guess it might depend on which "camp" you fall into:

(a) Lead us not into temptation.

(b) Yield to temptation -- it may not pass this way again!

Or maybe as Mae West (I think) was once quoted: "When it comes to choosing between two evils, I pick the one I haven't tried before!)

One other thought... after all these years, I still notice "lovely young things" -- which, when my dear wife notices me noticing usually gets me into a wee bit of trouble... and I reply to her it just means she doesn't have to get me a guide dog yet! Or maybe as an acquaintance of mine once said -- "Married, not buried!"
