Anybody else here ever do any campaign gaming with naval miniatures?
Considering that GHQ would probably prefer to build a host of other 'real' warships before doing a whole line of AXs, I would be happy with just the Atlantis; I could stomach using a dozen Atlantis' as substitutes for the other Auxiliary Cruisers (Thor, Komet, Widder...etc, etc, etc.)
(are ya listening GHQ? Just the 'Atlantis' for now, that's all I ask)

By the way, for those of you interested in AXs, I highly recommend the book "The German Raider Atlantis" (written by the Captain of the "Atlantis"). It might be difficult to get a hold of, but it's an excellent non-fiction account of the Atlantis' exploits during the war. A very good read on the subject.
Anyway, Auxiliary Cruisers are so under-represented in wargaming (particularly miniatures), they warrant at least a representative model, I would submit.

By the way, Will, excellent looking Italians! I plan to buy much of the Italian navy this year if all goes well; I don't relish the idea of painting the barber-pole stripes though. Nice, nice work.
