I dont use vallejo paints. But I do use Polly-Scale, and Tamiya. For polly-scale, I use -
US TAC MED GREEN (I think the NATO green is too dark)
NATO TRI COLOR BROWN
NATO TRI COLOR BLACK

and for tamiya I use basically the same thing -
NATO GREEN
NATO BROWN
NATO BLACK

I was just trying to figure out a way to get as much out of modern forces as I could. The basic framework now is that Russia has been getting played by China and Iran who launch an attack to seize most of the land west of the Urals. Middle Eastern Islamic States allied with Iran use this as an eastward expansion opportunity. India and Pakistan get drawn in along with Japan and the Koreas on various sides. NATO actually must assist Russia in a land war in Asia.

The good thing about this is that this kind of war will allow me to paint up everybody's stuff and then I could run all kinds of scenarios at my leisure either within or outside the framework of the Great Asian War. I could still use many of the forces involved to run late cold war actions if I wanted.

I was also contemplating adding a South American element. The rising left wing psuedo-bolivarian/castroite guys in the Chavez mold attacking Chile and other sane nations (maybe Argentina on one side with Chile and Colombia against the northern nations like Venezuela, Bolivia and possibly Brazil). This idea sounded fun for the out of date equipment sure to be prevalent, and the possibility of fun small sized naval actions.

At this point this project is still in the ambition stage. I have purchased a bunch of lead, but have only painted up some Russian T-80s at this point. My intention is to make it my summer painting project and neglect some other areas I normally jump around in.

Where in Florida Atticus?

Sounds cool. Definately pretty ambitious. Where in Florida, you ask. Boynton Beach. It's close to West Palm/Ft. Lauderdale. I'm actually very new to wargaming myself. Do you have an AIM screen name?

Atticus, what part of Florida are you in. I live in Gainesville. Probert, we usually run a big game at least once a year and if your interested let me know. Ditto if you get one up in Tallahassee.

Paul,

I certainly would be interested. I have no gaming group up here, so no big game to run. Let me know when the big game is and I will see if I can wrangle the work and family stuff around it (which is a huge task with toddlers and clients both being tough to handle).

Fla Game????

Post by chrisswim »

Please include me in the game, I would really like to play.

I do have some stuff for forces representing different South American countries. Argentina, Peru, Cuba, Chile, Mexico, etc. Most are painted, some I still need to do the wheels.

Paul, invite me to the next game. I am just south of Jacksonville. I have tables here. I think I could do Russia, Ukraine, China, Iraq, Iran, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Saudi Araba, Egypt, Isael, Jordon(with there M1S tanks, they'll kick you a**), South Africa and probably a few others.

Any other senarios that you like or wish to consider. May sometime?

Is Jax okay. Paul, I may have a few M2's for your forces.

Chris,

Jacksonville is fine with me if it works for everyone else. It will be good to push some lead again.
