My Micro Armor site - New updated tutorial

Post by intobattle »

Hello All,

I'm fairly new to the GHQ Forum. I used to collect GHQ as a kid years ago, and have recently picked my hobby back up. I've spent the last year or so dabbling in 15mm, but after placing an order for GHQ a month ago I remembered why I liked them so much as a kid..... they are just so cool and precise.

I am hooked again, and have been working on my own WW 2 miniatures site (inspired by Troy Ritter - thank you Troy, awesome stuff!) as a means to keep myself improving in my painting; and as a means to get involved in the miniatures community in general. The site it pretty bare right now, but I do have a few galleries and an infantry painting tutorial. Feel free to browse around if you'd like and any feedback/suggestions are more than welcome.

I'm working weekly to add photos, tutorials, etc. Here's a shot from one of my galleries.

thanks!

infobattle,

Outstanding! You've gotten off to a terrific start with your website, and your painting is top-notch! I look forward to seeing more of your work -- both here on the GHQ Forum and on your website!

Thanks all for the great feedback. I'm hoping my GHQ order will arrive today or tomorrow, if so, I plan to work on some more pictures and an armor tutorial this weekend.

IMO the beveled edges of the bases look much better than the un-beveled ones. Maybe you could rough them up so they don't look so smooth and straight (also do the same for the 6mm ones)? Don't forget to take off the mold seam lines from the castings if you can, especially along the barrels. On the Jagdpanzer IVs, try making some seperate skirts and battle damaged ones. Also maybe more weathering and spilled fuel from refills, etc.

Ahh, my secret is out... I'm hosting my site with Go Daddy and I'm using some of their "easy site design" tools - I get to customize it to look the way I want. The slideshow feature is their online photo gallery program that interfaces with my site. They charge a small fee each month for this service, but I usually sell units on ebay to cover the costs.

Hope that answers your question.

Sure does. Thanks!
I peeked at your code and saw that you were using
the "Website Tonight" thingy from GoDaddy. ;)

Thanks again! :)
