It sounds like the consenses is towards Floquil Gray. I will give a try. I am not happy with the turn out with the white Games Workshop primer. I appreciate everyones input.

an alternative...

Post by Ravenseye »

don't laugh when I tell y'all where I get my primer.

I get it at Wal-Mart, and it costs 96cents per can.

I _love_ the stuff. It reminds me of the primer that GW used to put out about 12-14years ago. Smooth, flat and solid.

I have black, white, grey, rust and a few other colors to use.

It's awesome stuff, I'd easily recommend it to anyone who has a WallyWorld local to them. It's called Homeplace and it comes in blue cans with the appropriately colored cap to show whats in the can.

I've used it on Micro Armor and it didn't clog any details at all.

Without having checked yet..... is it Krylon primer or just regular Krylon (i.e. paint)?

Thats a good question. I actually use both (paint and the primer),but prefer the paint. The paint I refer to is Krylon camouflage Ultra flat. This Ultra flat they make comes in 4 colors Khaki, dark brown, green (kind of like USMC green),and black. I've not used the black yet. These paints DO NOT obscure the detail at all. So I use them for prime/base coats. The price here is about 3 bucks for a large 11oz can.

Krylon, eh'?

I've been skittish of the Krylon stuff they have because when I tried some sandable primer from them about 15 years ago now, it was very thick stuff. Not at all what I was looking for..

This Camo paint they have is thin enough for MicroArmor?
