GHQ - The new Gazelle looks awesome! Maybe I'll have to do French forces after all.

Paul, what??? you planning to do French...? No way. Perhaps you could do some other countries that use the Gazelle.

How about Angola, Bosnian Serb Republic, Burundi, Cameroon, Croatia, Cyprus, Ecuador, Egypt, Iraq, Ireland, Jordan, Kenya, Kuait,Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, UAE, UK, Syria, Tunisia, Yugoslavia(SSerbia/Montenegro). There were a few others....

So Paul, who will you work on next?

GHQ: it does look very nice.

My scratch-building skills may be (may have been) rudimentary at best, but still for the past 28 years I have been the ONLY wargamer I've ever met who could put up a flight of Gazelles for his modern French forces.

Now ANYONE can do it.

(But aye, they sure DO look nice, don't they? And it looks like they come with HOT tubes for an AT helo configuration, to boot!)

Maybe you're right. I lost my head for a moment. The Balkans would be a good thing or maybe just add to my UK forces. But the Franco - German Brigade, that's not really like doing other French forces right? I mean there are Germans in there so its okay, right?

I guess you never gamed against ferret701. He has some (at least one anyway) Skytrex Gazelles on his website. Granted, he has them in his UK section but I think the transition could be made quickly enough.

When I place my next order I will buy some for my Brits.
I also have a Gazelle but my one is from H&R (Navwar), being fair it is a rather good model.
At last the GHQ one looks, what a surprise, better especially when getting into the details...

Cheers Ben

Paul[/quote]

I have them painted up for the French too, both Skytrex and Scotia (I think, might be H&R). I used the rotors from a 1/350th scale Trumpeter Kamov kit. At least one of them has little HOTs mounted on stub wings. I also rebuilding another two now, but not sure what nation they will be painted for.

1/2400 British aircraft pack

Post by Donald M. Scheef »

The 2007-2008 schedule for new models included a Micronaut 1/2400 pack of British aircraft (UKN41) for December, 2007. It is now 2008-01-02 and no such listing in the catalog or new products list. Is there any update on when this will be available?

I know that two days doesn't seem like much, but I would like to include this in a large order to take advanage of the 15%-off discount.

Thanks, but I am aware of this fact. I was asking about the next list.

ACWBill ; perhaps what Mr. Scheef is trying to get across is that as the 2007-2008 schedule came out in May of 2007, then we can expect the 2008-2009 schedule to come out around the same time this year. I too am keen to see what's on the horizon

This is the third Kongo: IJN09 Kongo '44, IJN10 Kirishima '42. Any clue as to how it is different? I admit that I'm not up to date on the differences between the Kongos, especially over time.

But I would be interested in finding out.

IJN48 Hiei

Post by Donald M. Scheef »

During their relatively long careers, all the Kongo class battlecruisers/battleships had significant modifications.
In particular, Hiei was partially disarmed in accordance with Washington treaty restrictions and served as a gunnery training ship from about 1932 until about 1940. When she was re-armed, the superstructure was different from any of her sister ships. The most visible difference was in the tower-mast, which was of a more modern design than that of the other Kongos, although still rather cluttered compared to newer warships of the time.
