Welcome to the Forum, Mikee. Thank you for your list. They will be included in my next summary (probably about once a month until June 2008). Since I have included lists that went well beyond a dozen ships, I will also include your honorable mentions.
The Axis Insurance Company sounds interesting. Could you give a summary (perhaps in PM to keep this train on subject)?
In section "B" I am going to assume you mean WWII rather than WWI. The WWI era Duquesne was one of the Lyon battleship design class, there was no Duguay-Trouin, and Bretagne, Lorraine and Provence were a class of three.
I also go back to the slide rule era. I can still win sodas from the youngsters in my classes by betting that I can get a better value for e^250 on my Post Versalog than they can on their multi-function calculators. For those who can figure out what to do after "Error" pops up on the display, I am glad to pay off. I was ecstatic when I got my first programmable and discovered that I could use it to calculate Fletcher Pratt ship values in less than a minute.

Hi Donald:
My French ship wants are all WWII versions. The Duquesne I'm thinking of was the 2- ship CA class (Duquesne & Tourville) completed in 1928.
OTOH, I hope GHQ will consider WWI French and Italian ships (even Japanese) when - I hope - they finish with the U.S. AND THEN, do the post WWI never builts (to dream the impossible dream). I'm in my late 60s, and only have 20 - 30 years left, so they'd better get cracking. EVERYBODY BUY LOTS OF WWI U.S. BBs! - so they'll keep it up
The "Axis Insurance Company!" Ahh, what a memorable game! This game was played by a group known as SF BANG, playing at the Lake Merced Boathouse in San Francisco in the early '70s. The game master (I've forgotten his name) used 1:1200 scale warships; we estimated distances, and the judeges measured out the actual distance to see how accurate we were. Hits were based on accuracy.
The "Inner Circle" group of six players each ran one country's fleet and made strategic movements around a map. The Gamemaster decided who met who, and set up the game. Now, the Admiral of the "Orange" (British) fleet was annoying the bossman, so he set-up the Axis Insurance Company to meet a force of, as I remember, 3 QE class, 3 Revenge class, and two Rodneys. The Axis Insurance Company consisted of two ships from each power; an "H" class and the Bismarck from the Germans, a Yamato and a Nagato from the Japanese, a Littorio and one other (either a second Littorio or a Duilio) from the Italians, and a Richelieu and one other (possibly a Dunkerque, but I've forgotten) from the French. A mismatch, considering that the gamemaster put the fleets so farapart that the 3 Revenges didn't get into gun range 'till after lunch.
But we whupped 'em (I was playing a Revenge class), due to a sneaky plan on my part!!
The axis Insurance Co. moved all day in a line of battle right across the game floor, not weaving at all, probably to make it easier for them to guess the range. Our three R class ships closed on them in a "step" pattern; the first ship estimated the range on turn X, we found out what the actual range was, and then on the next turn ship #2 moved onto the exact spot that ship #1 had fired from. I think the 3 QEs also did a "3 step" pattern dance. On each turn at least 2 ships in each column had the exact range and got 4 - 5 hits, each worth 3-5 %. The Axis players never caught on, although I don't know why; we chalked the movements on the floor, so they coud see where we had been.
We sunk Yamato first, then "H", and then I think one each French & Italian. Then we went back and, if I remember right, got a 5th ship before the game ended (possibly Bismarck). I don't remember any losses on our side, bvut they were low to non-existant.
That's the story of the Axis Insurance Co, one of the funniest games I ever played. I've forgotten most of those games after 30 years or more, but tend to remember the really odd ones. The guy running the Orange Fleet was so happy that he made each of us a medal out of orange ribbon, a King George VI large hapenny, and a pin one used on medals. I've still got that around here somewhere.

My Two Cents
Hello everyone.
Not that this list has a hope in hades of happening but here goes :
GW Series 1/2400
Italy -
DN Dante Alighieri Class
DN Cavour Class
DN Doria Class
AC San Giorgio Class
AC Pisa Class
DD Indomito Class
Austria-Hungary -
DN Radetzky Class
DN Tegetthoff Class
AC Modified Admiral Spaun Class
DD Tatra Class
So for a MERE 10 CASTINGS you get, 1) Essentially all the main and usable units in the Adriatic 2) Two ready-made to oppose fleets - no waiting for an opponent in the future, 3) Two pretty evenly-balanced sides ,as things go, and 4) A ready to go opponent for a future FRENCH WWI LINE(ok enough with the laughing -their ships look so weird they're cool, i mean 6 funnels! gotta love it) Remember Italy and A-H were nominal allies at the start of WWI before they took opposite sides so they could, in a hypothetical setup, gang up on the French.
Come on people think outside the box ;)

Mr Scheef noticed in another post of mine that i wished for Shimakaze and Kargero class destroyers and said that he was going to add them to this post. I have of course a zillion ships i would like to see made, but since we have space, and GHQ has limited time, i decided i would only enter the 5 i would most like to see.
Kagero class DDs, important design, saw very heavy service
Shimakaze class DD, one of a kind, but saw quite a bit of service, ultimate WWII DD
USS Idaho in her late war appearance
Kuma class CLs, very important design, all saw heavy service, not all had the
torpedo modifications that Kitikami and Oi received
More types of merchant and cargo ships, whether different classes of Maru, US designs, British, Dutch, anything, please give my destroyers something to escort
would prefer Japanese vessels, as they have only one type of merchant ship in their
list atm.
My next up would be for various long range flying boats and patrol craft, PBYs, Kawanishi flying boats, etc. I know, this makes six....i can dream!

Micronaut Wishlist 2008-2009
Here is my fairly short list of 1/2400 ships that I would like GHQ to do in the 2008 to 2009 time frame. I have kept this list short so as not to be a laundry list of everything GHQ doesn't currently produce.
1. Yorktown or Enterprise in 1942. Currently GHQ makes the Hornet and I assume that some of you, like me, bought one or two extras to represent the two earlier ships. There were some differences between the Hornet and the others such as the fact that her flight deck was over 20 ft. longer and a lighter foretop. Since these ships were all together at Midway and Enterprise served out the rest of the war, it would be a shame not to do the Yorktown/Enterprise in their 1942 edition.
2. Saratoga in 1942. The current GHQ model of the Lexington would serve well for the Saratoga if doing Pearl Harbor. In 1942 both of these ships shipped their 8 inch guns and replaced them with other armaments such as dual 5 inch guns for the Saratoga and 1.1 inch guns for the Lexington. We don't have the representative ships as they appeared at Coral Sea for the Lex and off of ** CENSORED ** for Sara.
3. New Orleans/ Minneapolis in 1942. GHQ makes the San Francisco which covers the last 3 ships of the class. Since this was a large class with 7 ships it would be great to see one of the earlier cruisers for 1942.
4. IJN Hosho. Need this one to fill in Midway. I am also in favor of additional Japanese carries as well. I beleive the Shoho and Zuiho were sisters so if that is the case I don't think there is a need to do a separate Shoho as long as they are close enough.
5. IJN Shinano. Although having a very short career it was built and did sail so should be done.
6. German Battleship Scheer. I would like to see this one with the clipper bow. The Lutzow also differed from it quite a bit in the bridge area and would be welcome to complete all 3 German Pocket Battleships.
7. German BC Gneisenua. Different enough from Scharhorst to merit its own separate model.
8. German Cruiser Hipper. Again, different enough from Prinze Eugen to merit a separate model.
9. WWI - More German and British light and heavy cruisers. The Minotaur would be a good choice for starters but there are several gaps to fill.
10. WWI Lutzow as at Jutland. Currently GHQ makes the Derrflinger and the Lutzow was a sister but not sure if there might be enough differences to warrant a new separate model I am interested to see what the experts have to say about this.
There are many other ships I would like to see in addition but these are my requests for 2008-09 so I have kept it short. I think some German raiders such as the Atlantis would be neat as well as more merchantmen of all nationalities. There are some additional destroyer classes to do as well for some of the combatants.
My primary interest is WWI and WWII but would be possibly interested in pre WWI as well such as Spanish American War and Russo-Japanese War if GHQ ever did the ships for those.

Hello
I just got done posting my message here and that larger island near where Savo Island is censored. I didn't realize it was an expletive. Hopefully everyone can understand what I am saying.
